RunToRoxette.com site did an interesting interview with Mats Udd, the director of the latest Roxette video for “She’s got nothing on (but the radio)” single. The interview is English and you can read it here.
Here is one of the most interesting answers Mats gave:
What is the spirit of the video for “She’s got nothing on (But The Radio)”?
I actually sent four ideas which was very different from eachother and they pick the last one and it was the most brightest idea cos they wanted a happy video. So that’s the spirit of the video, happiness but I tried to do it with a little twist. Of course, I wanted to go much deeper into weirdness but I guess that wouldn’t be true to the Roxette fans haha.

I am all about “weirdness” too, but I just don’t like when you hardly see Roxette, that’s why I still prefer they much simpler vids.
Gosh, talking about gore, I think few weeks ago, I accidentally found an old discussion about “a quite gore” scene on TCOTH video, I CHECKED it out and it’s quite true (:P).

MTV europe didn’t even want to show that clip because of that scene of 1,5 seconds. So there’s a version of the clip without this ‘Tiger Woods’…
This fact even had some small publicity in several countries.

Actually I didn’t mind with the “golf scene”. There are much much more explicit scene from other artist. I was talking about min 2.29, it seemed like the guy on vid was preparing to eat a human’s foot. Of course it was so fast, and many probably didn’t notice

Current videos by artists like Britney Spears are too much explicit. I never understood why MTV was so scandalised by such a short scene when they play loads of videos and reality shows plenty of sex and harsh language.

I don’t understand it either, MTV has nothing to do with music anymore, and MTV music sucks anyway.. and the american shows are anyway something unbearable (spelling?) :S

A Canadian review:
“With an amazing sense of melody and the unique mix of Marie Fredriksson’s and Per Gessle’s voices, She’s Got Nothing On has the potential to be the biggest single from the duo since “Joyride”, their last Canadian number one hit in 1991.”

That’s a good news. I guess the “leaking” had some positive impact as well.

as much as we are all happy about reviews, I kindly ask you not to link to pages which offer the song for streaming and link to the youtube videos.
It’s a complicated situation for me, as far as I know, EMI is trying to have them removed and doesn’t approve on those videos, which were uploaded by somebody who clearly didn’t pay for the song. Besides that, youtube videos can be downloaded and there are many people who can live with the bad quality such a video offers. On the other hand, people who listen to the song and want to buy it, can’t because it’s still not on sale.. and you know, sometimes it’s about timing, you like a song, you click on iTunes, you buy it inmediately. You might forget a few days later that you actually wanted to buy that song. I am not talking about us fans but potential new fans
I know that youtube will be full with the song in a couple of days when the single is out, and probably EMI will relax on this or won’t be able to track all of them down, but I still think we should wait a bit with the linking until the single is out and we can really start linking and “promoting”.
And I hope for an official streaming/youtube video!
Thanks for understanding.
