A few hundred fans decided to drop their votes in our little voting machine called “Roxette World Tour 2011 – let’s help with the setlist again!“. There were some who did not play fair and tried to vote more than once, but they did not succeed in the end. After two months of voting and hours of counting, we can announce the final results…
- The Sweet Hello, The Sad Goodbye
- A Thing About You
- Spending My Time
- The Rain
- Silver Blue
- June Afternoon
- Surrender
- Run To You & Keep Me Waiting
- -
- So Far Away
To quote the Man from the summer Daily Roxette interview:
I don’t know about this Internet vote, there always comes up weird song choices like “The Sweet Hello, The Sad Goodbye” laughs Per. We played ‘Silver Blue’ since that song won. We did it in a new arrangement that was nice.
Will Roxette use any of our propositions in their setlist? Time will only tell.
By the way, be prepared for a very quick voting just after the album’s release. You know – to pick up the songs we like the most from that.

I’m very satisfied with the results! Common fanbase taste is great in the end.
Why no #9?
#2 by tomos85 on January 7, 2011 - 23:46
As there are two songs on the 8th position
#3 by tomos85 on January 7, 2011 - 23:47
And if there is a 9th position, then on the 10th and 11th would be two songs too – Queen of rain and What’s she like
#4 by Sascha on January 7, 2011 - 23:49
Great songs as well! Ah, where should we stop?
#5 by silverblue on January 7, 2011 - 23:50
Looks good. This list makes me really curious whether P&M will again choose from our favourites for the setlist.
I am a bit surprised since there are 5 out of 10 songs on the list which have already been played live previously… Hope for something we haven’t heard live yet.
#6 by the_rain on January 8, 2011 - 00:15
finally “The sweet hello, the sad goddbye” can’t await this song to here finally at the TOUR 2011!!! We loved this SONG!
#7 by daniel_alv on January 8, 2011 - 00:28
The sweet hello, the sad goodbye is one of the best Roxette songs ever! Roxette are very good to use really great songs as b-sides. Would be so nice to hear it live.
#8 by hotblooded91 on January 8, 2011 - 00:49
Agree!! TSHTSG is easily one of the best roxette tracks! Has everything in it that I love about them : ) To hear it live would be amazing! I don’t think it’s an overly difficult song for Marie to sing however the lyrics might be a bit difficult for her though?! Hope they include it
#9 by act_tony on January 8, 2011 - 01:55
more songs from Pearls Of Passion would’ve been great.
#10 by HEIDI on January 8, 2011 - 05:22
Judging from the most recent TDR interview, Per commented that they are doing a greatest hits set list and then will throw in a few new songs from Charm School, so I personally doubt if they will use songs like June afternoon or a thing about you, but le’ts see.
#11 by Magnusjakan on January 8, 2011 - 07:46
”I Remember You” could be the best strange live track!
#12 by Alison on January 8, 2011 - 10:50
I am surprised at ‘The Sweet Hello, The Sad Goodbye’ with it being a B-Side from Spending My Time [Well it was on a UK release] it’s actually one of my favourite songs and also one of the first singles I bought on CD Single Format along with ‘The Big L’ in HMV! Ahhh some things you just do not forget!
I would love to see this played live…
#13 by ChrissieR on January 8, 2011 - 13:18
Am I the only one who doesn’t like “The sweet hello the sad goodbye”??? Hahaha…still don’t get what’s so special about the song. I think it’s quite boring..but well..a new fresh live version would be interesting maybe.
#14 by Sascha on January 8, 2011 - 13:22
Short answer: Yes!
#15 by Wicf on January 8, 2011 - 13:57
@HEIDI: They might play ATAY they included it on Hits! from 2006, so why not?
it was rather a flop, I know
#16 by HEIDI on January 8, 2011 - 15:18
I think it was a ‘flop’ like you say, because the timing was off – Roxette was neither together as a band or apart in 2006, but I still LOVE the song – I remember hearing it for the first ‘time and it was something new Marie Fredriksson was singing – made my day! Fortunately Roxette has so many ‘hits’ to choose from which is great. Songs that were never released before like ‘see me’ & ‘bla bla bla you broke my heart’ and ‘myth’ are FANTASTIC SONGS but I don’t think for live though. There are just songs that work better live and then some like ‘you don’t understand me’ that should be left for the studio only. lol
#17 by naturalborn-roxer on January 8, 2011 - 16:20
i really, really hope that they will play all of those songs but i guess that is to much to ask…
Well it’s roxette, so there aren’t that many bad songs.
#18 by ilisim on January 8, 2011 - 17:07
Good choice, can`t wait to hear it.
#19 by gbg_joyrider on January 8, 2011 - 18:15
It would be fab to go to a Roxette concert where they only perform songs they never played live before. Or songs which isn’t among their greatest hits. They could call the concert: Roxette with their not so great songs! or Roxette’s never played! I would travel far to go to that concert!
#20 by Majdy on January 8, 2011 - 21:17
‘Til now I still don’t understand why TSH never included in an album. This like their BEST ballad ever, in my opinion, even better than IMHBL/LTYH, so I am so happy this songs win.
Maybe if it’ll be easier for Marie if she sings it with Per, in duet style, like they did with Fading Like A Flower.
#21 by abysmo on January 8, 2011 - 21:40
Agree, TSHTSG is their best song. Wish I Could Fly, Queen Of Rain, Listen To Your Heart are great ballads, but every artist have only one, the very special song and it’s TSHTSG for Roxette. So many fans can’t be wrong. I really don’t understand that Per dislike this pop pearl.
#22 by big-little-girl on January 8, 2011 - 22:36
TSHTSG? I DON’T GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! That song sucks BIG TIME and I always remember the Thomas Anders-version of it, that sucks even more! But it could’ve been worse with “Make My Head Go Pop” which is THE WORST Roxette-song ever (in my opinion)! I could live with the rest of the list!
#23 by Judith on January 8, 2011 - 23:21
I also think this is one of Marie’s best vocal performances on an studio-song!!! So touching, amazing!
#24 by honky_tonk on January 9, 2011 - 03:01
I also agree with that, one of their best pop gems.. sadly it ended up being a b-side.
#25 by Wicf on January 9, 2011 - 11:14
How did I get to know Roxette music? When I was very young, I found the Vulnerable single in my uncle’s room and I listened to it. That mens that Vulnerable was the first and TSHTSG the second song I heard from Roxette… And I remember thinking that TSHTSG was surely a big ht, because it sounded so good. When I grew up and really fell in love with Roxette I kept searching for this song and found out that it was not a hit, nor an album track and I couldn’t believe it. … What I want to say is that many artists play their b-sides live, so it’s time for Roxette to perform TSHTSG, one of their greatest ballads
#26 by HEIDI on January 9, 2011 - 15:10
I am a BIG Roxette fan, but I would instead of TSHTSG like to hear rare songs like SURRENDER, PAINT, SLEEPING SINGLE, SOUL DEEP & perhaps Marie’s ‘Bad moon’ – very emotional song. I am very pleased to hear via Per’s twitter that they are rehearsing my favourite favourite ‘watercolours in the rain’ – so happy about that:)
#27 by Judith on January 9, 2011 - 16:41
ha! He answered
#28 by Majdy on January 9, 2011 - 21:43
Great taste. Surrender, Paint, Sleeping Single and Bad Moon are also my favorites. Not so much with Soul Deep, but I still appreciate it, and I use to play that to everyone who thinks Marie couldn’t sing
#29 by Majdy on January 9, 2011 - 21:44
Sorry, Judith. I meant to reply at Heidi’s post
