World Tour 2011: Athens, Greece – May 27 #28

Around 4,000 people attended the very first Roxette concert in Athens, Greece. As there was heavy rain this day, many people decided not to attend the gig. “Way out” was skipped for the second time this week (hopefully the last!!!) and thanfully there was no rain during Roxette’s performance.

  1. Why they skipped Way Out ???? They were supposed to add one at each continent, so they had to play 23 songs, not 21, at the moment… Bon Jovi is playing 28 – 30 songs at each and every show…

  3. Robby, Roxette is not Bon Jovi and Marie is not John Bon Jovi. Of course we would love to hear more from Roxette, but what can we do about it, really?

  5. I understand the reason for not not playing Almost Unreal, Crash! Boom! Bang!, Milk & Toast & Honey or You Don’t Understant Me, but what was wrong with Way Out ???

  6. Your are completly right. I can`t heare anymore roxette can not play more because marie….Marie is in to shape now she could sing of course more songs which wont be a problem since they are old lyrics storeed in maries haed. It`s more likely that they would need some more musicans to play thos beloved songs like Amost unreal….Fireworks, Speak to me.
    They don not WANT ! its also crasy to hear at the beginning of the tour that they will do add songs. Please look if we count correct that they should have been adding 4 Songs!. I think if ever they will change the set list in fall 2011. I will attend 3 concerst of them in the next 2 weeks beginning with Budapest, Graz,Berlin and I hope to catch all the 23 songs so far.

  8. I’m kind of sure to hear Way out at the latest in germany, at the time the new single will be out here! I don’t think they will pass the opportunity by to promote the single!
    Maybe they’ll skip another song instead (hopefully not…).

  9. The number of played song was corresponding to the number of people attending the show. Less People like in Russia or Athen, Turkey = 21 songs. Every other concert was given the “max” version 22 Songs.

    For japeke: my comment shocks you? I think shocking news are Fokushima …ect. Marie is in top form ( I was writing very fast and did make some mistakes during writing). So she is able to sing also other new songs too. Or do you belive that she is limited doing so? She was undergoing an positive healing process and now is again self confident. Look at the last shows! Therfore for me it is the most natural thing to want more and more- thats business. She is back-they are back so they can give full acceleration! Go on roxette show what you can. She is no grandma but an star!

  10. @ bergepanther: Why don’t you just let Roxette decide how many songs they play?? It is THEIR decision!! Per has already mentioned that they play basically their greatest hits, so there will be no Crash! Boom! Bang! and no Almost Unreal.

    And PLEASE let Marie out of this, she is such a strong and adorable person!!

    I think you don’t love Roxette enough, otherwise you wouln’t pick on them like this.

    Btw: I guess that also the record company and the presenter of the tour have also a saying concerning the selection of songs.

  11. there is nobody out there who could explain to me to not love roxette…what an strange consideration.. I just want to remind people that Per was the one who told many things concerning the set list. Some belive that Marie has general problems with the lyrics of new songs but they seems to ignore the possibilities of her.- I wanted to make you think of that. Unfortunately there is nobody from us to influence the set list. Greatest hist- Yes it is logical that they play those but the list is far from complete- Or not? Is almost unreal not an greatest hit ? Did you miss the figures from 1993 or the content of compilation CDs? Or what about the Pearls of Passion tracks- Just 1 hit would be nice. Roxette says: we have the best fans ( ..like every group says) but in reality they make their own decisions without hearing more the whishes of fans. ( remember voting for Speak to me here for the tour… it did won because it`s the best song from the new album) but it has not been played yet. An why not creating new Evergreens? I speak out what I think like many others who think the same but have lost the energy to write. I know there is always room for improvement and so I hope I will see those to get even more to enjoy Roxette in the coming future.
