Livestage TV has had a chance to talk with the Man from Roxette just before yesterday’s Stockholm concert in Globen. Here is what Per said during the interview:
- hopefully 1.5 mil tickets will be sold once the tour ends
- this tour should last till September-October 2012
- there will be Gyllene Tider reunion in future
- the new album is called “Tourism II” and it will be released in March; this album will be finally mixed in January

What’s Livestage TV, a web show?
I guess the live songs on Tourism II are not 100% set yet. Hoping for inspired cover design and a great new lead single with a good interesting video!

It more of a web show with interviews with artists just before concerts.

So, that’s what he said in the end – that they will include in 2Rism songs recorded live from the tour, right? Sounds great – Spending maybe, the SGNO/Soul Deep mix, are my first choices right now!!!

Would be great to have live versions of some “new” songs. 7Twenty7 or Opportunity Nox sounded fab in June, really right ones to be played live. And loud!

Tourism II? It seems they couldn’t come up with a more creative name after all…

To repeat the concept of ‘Tourism’ is cool and appropriate but do they really wanna call it ‘Tourism 2′?
From a marketing point of view, a #2 is never as good as a #1. Same goes with blockbuster movies. Is there one movie, where the 2nd part is better than the first? No.
A fresh title with a creative reference to the Tourism-album would be the best. I’d call it ‘ENCORE’ and because it’s me, I already visualized it with colors and type

Cheers.

That’s exactly what they need to do. The concept is great, but to just slap on a #2 seems a little lazy.
They’ve used a fan-made video so if your covers get seen by the right people you never know what might happen.

The movie example shows that the usage of known titles (even with different actors or unrelated stories) leads to a commercial advantage. Even a much worse movie #2 often sells better than #1. Don’t know if it’s the same with music albums.
I’m fine with Tourism 2 (2rism would have been too cryptic for outsiders), just hope for nice photos and design. Most important is the music incl. a great lead single of course!

I’m not really sure that it would be “Toursim 2″ – of course, in Swedish he says “Toursim två” (“TvåRism” makes no sense), but maybe in English he would’ve said “2Rism” with a gesture… I’m just imagining here. “Encore” sounds better than “Tourism 2″ to me, anyway…

“Encore” sounds like an unexpected, very last album to me. I don’t want T2 to be the last.
