The setlist for tonights show was the same as Ottawa except for the song intro to Joyride. Tonight Christoffer played a famous guitar lick instead of a melody to song, unfortunately I recognized the lick but can’t tell you what song it was from!!! Hopefully someone else will know it. One thig I can tell you is that he also repeated this lick one more time during the last seconds of the song (which was cool).
We Canadians may be more laid back than other crowds but let me tell you LOVE was in the air tonight. Everyone sang in all the right places and you could tell that the band was really touched by the loud response and cheers. It’s impossible to describe… the whole night was very surreal for me. I was even crying from joy during the fast songs! One other moment that was notable was that Marie knocked her microphone stand over during 7twenty7 when she was doing one of her slow turns with her arms spread out. She noticed to late and held her hands to her ears and flinched from the noise. A stangehand quickly reset it for her.
Besides that one slip (and of course the usual moment or two of mixing up some lyrics) Marie truly was in TOP SHAPE tonight. Her facial expressions were especially animated…she was go good with the crowd. What more can I say? Oh…I was literally laughing out lous so hard for most of Joyride because people (including myself) kept getting hit in the head by the “wonderful balloons”.
ha ha … !!! Mexico will certainly be a big crowd
Right on! That’s my video! 🙂
Loved the show last night. Can’t wait for tonight! Hopefully Silver Blue makes a return.
Amazing night in Toronto! A literal dream come true for this American who waited 2 decades for this night — as Per said on stage last night: “It’s been 20 years — my, how you’ve grown!”
Christopher’s Joyride intro was the opening riff from Rush’s “The Spirit Of The Radio.” An inspired choice. 🙂
DavidRox helped me realize that in my post-concert buzz, I added and extra “the” to the song title of the Rush song Christopher played before Joyride.
For accuracy’s sake, the song is called “The Spirit Of Radio.” Thanks, DavidRox!
I believe Christoffer’s guitar lick was from a RUSH song (Spirit of Radio perhaps) which made my wife happy since she’s a huge RUSH fan.
The group sounded fantastic last night. My first time seeing Roxette live and I’ll never forget it. The energy was amazing and it was great to see the Toronto audience getting right into it. IMHBL was perfect when the crowd took over and hearing Stars and 7Twenty7 live was incredible.
Thank you Per and Marie and the rest of Roxette for a great night!
i must say – the articles I’ve read about the Canadian concerts are really shocking… Not a single good word was written about Roxette’s shows…. Shit!
