Roxette entered the UK Radio Airplay Charts with “She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio)” at #31, the highest new entry of the week!

The song started out last week on Radio 2’s A-List and several programmes frequently played it. It still remains on the A-List for a second week running! Fans also report hearing it on Radio 1 as well as local commercial radio stations!

The new album “Charm School” sees a release in the UK on March 28th with both the regular and the deluxe album being already available for pre-order from online stores! All fans want now is that UK tour date!

Dates have been announced for the Palacio Vistalegre Arena in Madrid on 18th November 2011 and for the Sant Jordi Club in Barcelona on 19th November 2011. Live Nation and Spanish VIP Tickets go on sale on the 16th March and tickets to the general public go on sale on 18th March!

I am sure this news will make many Spanish fans smile!

Roxette gets an A on BBC’s Radio 2!

UK Roxette fans have good news this week. Roxette’s single ‘She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio)’ has made it to the exclusive A-List on BBC’s Radio 2 which is absolutely fantastic news since Radio 2 is perhaps one of the biggest national radio stations in the country.

According to the BBC Radio 2 website the Playlist Committee, is made up of producers and chaired by Jeff Smith, Head of Music Radio 2. They meet each week to decide which new releases will be added to the station’s playlist.

The playlist contains about 30 tracks which are then divided into three different levels the A list, which receive the most plays, about 20 each week, the B list which gets around 10 plays and the C list which receives around 5 plays.

Per tweeted his happiness this morning:

‘She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio) has been A-listed on BBC Radio 2 playlist in UK” – We like that!!!’

Yes Per so do we…

UK Release April 4th

According to Amazon UK ‘Charm School’ seems to have a release date of 4th April in the UK, they currently have for pre-order the album at £11.99 and the Deluxe Version at £14.99, both however are listed as imports but I suspect this has just not been removed from the previous listings they had for the imported versions as previously advertised.

Play.com also have both versions of the album listed as well with a date of 4th April! The deluxe version is £12.99 and the regular album is £8.99.

UK album and single release expected in the spring!

In a press release issued by EMI Music today, they confirm that the European launch of Charm School will be on Monday 14th February, while the UK will see a launch of the album and a single in the spring. Which single will be released in the UK remains to be seen!

Update: according to Amazon.co.uk, the album will be released on April 4th and both versions, standard and deluxe, will be available. Thanks David for the information!

Roxette’s new video now working and unblocked – Vote!

As fans mentioned and started to report yesterday certain countries could not view the new video to ‘She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio)’ due to it being blocked, however it now seems like the problem has been fixed [at least in some countries] so head on over to YouTube and see if it works for you now!

If it still doesn’t, here’s the official MyVideo link for Germany (already 30,000 views!), official Dailymotion link and Mats Udd’s video channel on Vimeo.

Don’t forget to vote for the video on the pages mentioned above (click on the 5 stars ;)). And of course, view it, we (they) need as many views and highest vote as possible! 🙂

“She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio)” Possible Release Problems?

Concern has been raised by Roxette fans in the UK that the digital release of “She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio)” single has disappeared from sale at Amazon UK. At this moment in time, we are waiting a response from Roxette’s management on why this could have happened. The single never appeared for sale on iTunes UK, but HMV Digital in the UK is still selling the single (but only the a-side) as are Play.Com.

It seems the single (including the “B-Side”) has also been pulled from sale at Amazon Germany as well! The single song is still available though.

Thanks to David Carmon for informing us of the problem in the UK this morning and Volker for the information on Amazon.de

First Review Of ‘Leaked’ She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio) Get’s Thumbs Up!

The Website ‘Pop In Stereo’ is possibly the first to review the new Roxette single after it’s leak on the internet yesterday. The single has received both positive and negative comments from fans around the world, but it predominantly seems all positive and fans seem in high spirits that Roxette are back again!

The review of the single which was published on their website yesterday on New Year’s Eve, talks about the new album ‘Charm School’ and where the album has been recorded and who is behind the production of the album as well as giving the release date.

As for the single, it gets a big thumbs up from the reviewer in which they describe soaring vocal melodies and say it is what you would expect to hear from a band that created some of the biggest hits of the 80s and 90s. They also say if the single is promoted properly, ‘She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio)’ could be poised to acquiring Roxette a whole new audience of music fans.

To protect the policies of the Roxette Blog I am unable to link to the site, but feel this is most certainly a newsworthy article as the website Pop In Stereo attracts a lot of visitors!

Picture Of The First Ticket For 2011

Here’s a picture of the first ticket for the 2011 World Tour. Pre-Sale tickets went on sale this morning at 9am Swedish time over at Live Nation and despite telling myself I was unsure of where I was yet going (even if I was going to any at all, having not yet fully recovered from the last tour!) I couldn’t resist and bought two tickets for Gothenburg!

So here you are a picture of the first ticket! If any other fans out there would like to share snaps of the tickets as they buy them please get in touch with the team at the Roxette Blog!

Fans Gather at Leifs & Make The Front Page of Hallandsposten

On Friday evening about 90 fans gathered at Leif’s Lounge to warm up before the concert in Halmstad. What started out as a ‘small gathering’ of fans and an idea of ‘shall we meet for drinks and a chat’ turned into something rather quite special.

One of the highlights of the evening was when Hallandsposten came along to talk to some of the fans and take a fabulous group picture of those of us who attended the meet and greet!

When Hallandsposten arrived around 8pm – 9pm there were around 50 people on the scene but an hour or so later we had around 90 people in Leif’s, most people enjoying food from the Roxette Menu and drinking Leif’s Beer! (Just how cool are those bottles!)

The next morning on the front of Hallandsposten a picture taken outside Leif’s appeared on the front page, which you can see on Hallandsposten (or all the other websites/FB photo galleries which used it as well). Of course, some of us took the chance to take a group picture, like  Kirsten did. We would be happy if those who took a private photo of the fan-group would send it to us to post it here! I know there were some, cannot remember WHO.

We’re hoping we didn’t keep the band and Mrs F awake to long with the late night partying!
I’ll add some more pictures from the evening when I am home tomorrow, and I am sure one of the other Roxetteblog editors will shortly write about the fabulous contest that was held at Leif’s that evening!

A translation of the article is no longer available since we were requested by Hallandsposten to remove it.

C’mon Join The Fan Meeting Fun In Halmstad!

Update Friday 13 August: don’t forget! See you at Leif’s tonight! The party starts today 🙂

Hotel Tylösand confirmed there will be a special Roxette menu (different meals to choose from) today and tomorrow. I also asked them to play extra Rox&Co music tonight, I was told it would be done 🙂 /J

Published on July 30th:

As many of you know since Roxette announced their plans to now perform in fabulous Halmstad instead of Anderstorp many fans that were not going are now going. So Halmstad is without a doubt going to be one big party fest! So in order to get the party started for Saturday evening, some fans came up with the idea to organise an unofficial meet & greet event at Leif’s Lounge in Hotel Tylösand on Friday August 13th, if you have not had the pleasure to check out the charming place that is Leif’s Lounge then now is your chance to come on down and meet some of the other fans, check out the fabulous Roxette memorabilia that is on display and buy a drink in the bar to increase Per’s profits! 🙂

We’re currently waiting to hear back on whether or not they will put on the special Roxette menu for the evening, for that there has to be more than 25 people… we expect more than 25 somehow! 😉

So C’mon join the joyride everybody…
