ne calculates a quarter turn and show its structural functions in its themes – even to exclude hits – while the other offers a performance stripped of special effects but spontaneous where the public can hear everything that he wants to hear.

Comment from Dominick Abrams-Anderson

The setlist for tonights show was the same as Ottawa except for the song intro to Joyride. Tonight Christoffer played a famous guitar lick instead of a melody to song, unfortunately I recognized the lick but can’t tell you what song it was from!!! Hopefully someone else will know it. One thig I can tell you is that he also repeated this lick one more time during the last seconds of the song (which was cool).

We Canadians may be more laid back than other crowds but let me tell you LOVE was in the air tonight. Everyone sang in all the right places and you could tell that the band was really touched by the loud response and cheers. It’s impossible to describe… the whole night was very surreal for me. I was even crying from joy during the fast songs! One other moment that was notable was that Marie knocked her microphone stand over during 7twenty7 when she was doing one of her slow turns with her arms spread out. She noticed to late and held her hands to her ears and flinched from the noise. A stangehand quickly reset it for her.

Besides that one slip (and of course the usual moment or two of mixing up some lyrics) Marie truly was in TOP SHAPE tonight. Her facial expressions were especially animated…she was go good with the crowd. What more can I say? Oh…I was literally laughing out lous so hard for most of Joyride because people (including myself) kept getting hit in the head by the “wonderful balloons”.

Roxette to tour again in 2014?

In the very latest interview Per Gessle & Marie Fredriksson have done for Boston’s Patriot Ledger they gave us a hint about possible Roxette reunion in 2014.

We’re gonna have a break from Roxette after this U.S. tour. We will start touring again in early 2014. Hopefully we can return then!

We are totally surprised by the worldwide success. This tour has lasted for 19 months and we’ve played in front of 1.5 million people. Amazing.

When Marie got seriously ill back in 2002, we basically gave up the band. So, from that point of view, it’s a miracle we’re still able to tour at this level. We’re not touring to promote our new album or our latest single – we don’t think in those terms anymore. If people want to hear us, we’ll play. We try to enjoy ourselves and our fans to the max.

World Tour 2011: Warsaw Video Bootleg

4 weeks ago we published the audio bootleg from the Warsaw concert that took place on June 19, 2011. Now it’s a high time for the video follow up. If you are familiar with “Gessle Over Poland” masterpiece (both in audio and picture), so we can promise you will get the same excellently blurry quality of picture and a lot of unnecessary bonus materials.

Big thanks to Damian Kaplita for recording the concert, CooperStudio for doing the menu and mixing the staff and all others whose pictures and clips are used in this DVD.

It took some time to do it, but we do hope you will enjoy watching this bootleg as much as we hated working on this project (we’re just cracking jokes, you know :-).

Roxette are in Canada – the first concert today!

Roxette with the band have finally arrived to Ottawa, Canada where they are going to play their very first full North American concert in 20 years! As the promotional campaign is in the full speed, Per Gessle gave several interviews for both radio and print outlets.

Here are the most interesting quotes from him from OttawaCitizen.com

“Two countries in the world released the first Roxette album – it was Canada and Sweden, Gessle says of the group’s 1986 debut, Pearls of Passion. We have a very long relationship with Canada. It’s always been amazing.”

But as much fun as they’re having, Gessle admits that a long break after the tour will be best for band and fans alike. “Everyone is on their knees by now, he says of the gruelling schedule. And how can you miss us if we won’t go away?”

Per also did a 5-question Q&A for Lite 95.7 based in Edmonton. Have a listen!

First look at the Roxette’s blue vinyl

“The sweet hello, the sad goodbye” blue vinyl is finally out (if you haven’t ordered yet, you can do it e.g. at Bengans.se). Here’s the very first preview of how the single looks like. And there is a hidden gem – demo of the song sang by Per Gessle. Let us know what you think of that particular version.

Roxette to be guests at the opening of Friends Arena

The new football stadium Friends Arena in Solna, outside Stockholm, will have a star-packed opening ceremony, Metro.se informs. Such Swedish artists as Roxette, First Aid Kit, Loreen, Jump the Gun, Sven-Ingvar, Agnes, Danny or Richard Wolff will play there on Saturday, October 27.

It was previously announced that Colin Nutley is directing the opening. Here is the ad with Roxette’s “The Look” in the background:

The very last concert in Europe – Stockholm tomorrow!

Tomorrow is the day of the very last (confirmed) concert of Roxette in Europe during the World Tour 2011-2012. It will be a special 45-minute performance at the Oriflame’s anniversary conference at Globen in Stockholm. Rumour has it that the whole welcome rally will be broadcasted online tomorrow. Follow RoxetteBlog.com Facebook page for more updates!

Here are two promotional clips – with Roxette’s “It’s possible” as the tune in the background.
