He writes today that he thinks Per is really into it and happy to be there, Marie too even if she seems a bit fragile. He adds that you have to keep in mind that artists never give a 100% during rehearsals.

Proms producer Jan Vereecke comments the day on his blog:
To everyone’s joy, the latest rehearsals this afternoon with Roxette have been completed sooner as anticipated. This evening all foreign guest artists will enjoy a cosy dinner in a restaurant near the hotel. Extensive soundchecks on the big stage are scheduled for tomorrow afternoon and a first real show rehearsal later on the evening.

As ‘Night of the Proms’ producer Jan Vereecke tells on his blog, Roxette just enjoyed the orchestra ‘Il Novecento’ playing their repertoire. Now they use recordings of the orchestra to rehearse along to that. Tomorrow afternoon Roxette will finally play live together with the orchestra!

As we informed previously, Roxette went to Antwerp, Belgium yesterday. Tonight they will have the first rehearsal, Per Gessle informs on his Twitter – it is a very probable it will be a rehearsal with the orchestra.
Only 5 day are left till Night of the Proms tour start in Antwerp.
We got following information from Pascal:
According to a post from Proms organizer Jan Vereecke on his weblog, Roxette is currently (19:30 GMT+1, on 18-10-2009) doing a soundcheck. Tomorrow the band will do a first rehearsal without orchestra. A full rehearsal with orchestra is scheduled for Tuesday.

The Daily Roxette published an English version of Swedish press release regarding “Gessle over Europe” CD+DVD set. Thomas Evensson did also some scans of a promotional folder printed in Sweden. According to it, there are few changes in comparison to the preliminary informations. “C’mon” video as well as “Son of a plumber” and “Party crasher” eletronic promotional kits were removed from the frothcoming DVD. I assume it is related with DVD space limitations and will to have the best possible quality of the Cirkus concert.

It is worth noticing that two songs from Warsaw concert on a live CD was tagged as “Warszaw”, which is incorrect both in English and in Swedish. The incorrect name of Polish capital was also used in Per Gessle’s blog, so I suppose this was the reason why EMI did mistake there. This typo is visible in some webshops as well as on last.fm service. Fortunately, on the back cover of the album everything seems to be right.
Additionally, according to Lurirox at R2R forum German subtitles on DVD have few mistakes:
“We have a special letter in German called “ß” – some kind of “ss”, but it’s wrong to use it instead of “ß”. You have to change the language of the keyboard to get the right letter and it seems to me as if the person who was responsible for the subtitles did not change it because all the time when a “ß” is needed there is a “ü” instead of it.”
P.S. But still – I just can’t wait to watch it!
The Dutch NOTP Fanpage runs a series of articles and interviews up to the tour start next Friday. Yesterday they had an interview with Geert Vanhout, the man behind the lightshow. Some interesting excerpts:
Geert: ‘This year will be very special. The LED lights with a low resolution are used for a special light effect during the whole show; there will be less video images compared to last year but there will be more lights. On the stage itself, there will be separate light elements. Besides the artists and the orchestra, we also have to light up the dancers and the extras. All of this needs a lot of material and also a decent programming.’
Geert: ‘From Monday on the rehearsals start in the arena with the dancers, Tuesdays the extras start. On Wednesday the first rough show is done: everyone, also the artists get an explanation of what will happen; it’s a disaster for a musician or an artist not to know some fireworks will explode behind their backs! On Thursday and Friday general rehearsals are planned and Friday evening the first show.’
So fantastic, but the artists only see the design and the result of the light show from next week on. Doesn’t that create any problems?
Geert:’No, that’s not a problem. We discuss in advance with the artists, like recently with Sharon [den Adel]. But the artists know that they work with a professional organization that they can trust; the artists also know that they are part of NOTP and that the show is not build around them.

After some delays the tickets for the Night of the Proms in Rotterdam and Arnhem have finally been sent – according to the official website. The organizers apologize with a reservation for NOTP CDs/DVDs for every order.
