Some of the articles seems to be available without login if you Google: gyllene tider + news100 + hallandsposten , you can then refine your search with whatever you wanna read +news100. Seems to be text only though, no pictures.

I just read the old reviews and now understand perhaps why Jan-Owe Wikström is portrayed the way he is in “Join the Flumeride”, it seems like his review of for instance “Puls” totally lacks objectivity, although a good album, it’s quite interesting to read how it’s portrayed.

The Swedish version of S.O.S. was never released by ABBA, but by Agnetha Fältskog as a solo artist, on her album “Elva kvinnor it ett hus” (1975). The English version had been released by the group a few months earlier.

I’ve been following the contest since 2004. And I can say this was the weakest line-up since 2005 or so. I knew from the very beginning that it would be the same as every year, no matter if it was organized by Sweden. If you ever saw Melodifestivalen, you should know SVT is the master of tackiness. As most of my favourites didn’t go through the semifinals, I had the grand final as background noise. And since the winner (another mediocre and chessy song) had been decided since January, I didn’t pay much attention to the voting either. The problem is people are still voting for countries instead of songs, and it’s always the same countries in then final, even if their entries are rubbish (Greece, Azerbaijan, Finland, etc). Small or relatively ‘isolated’ countries (in terms of neighbours) like France, Spain or Portugal don’t stand a chance anymore.

As a competition, it’s really flawed because there’s no equal opportunities for all the contestants. As harmless entertainment, it’s (still) ok.

I’m afraid Agnetha’s album will take the #1 spot next week. The album was just released, and it was long awaited by the ABBA fans, not only in Sweden but in other countries too. By the way, she’s #6 in UK and #3 in countries like Germany and Australia. Not bad at all.
