Neil Curran’s review

As I stumbled out of the ‘Zitadelle’ subway station at 11am in my flip-flops I banged my toe against a concrete step. So as I hobbled along towards the venue, I could only hope that the day would get better. It was a beautiful day and as I approached the queue I already wished I had made it a little bit earlier, as there were already about 30 people basking in the sunshine as they waited. It looked like it might be a bit of pot luck as to whether I would get a good spot at the front, as there were about 10 barriers that they were to let people through at the same time.

The day passed pretty slowly, but I amused myself with some games on my phone and listening to music. The atmosphere seemed pretty good. I recognised quite a few faces from other concerts I’ve been to over the years. Occasionally the sky would cloud over and there would be a burst of light rain but it never took long for the sun to reappear.

German concert tickets selling very well

Our reader Thorsten asked the German tour promoters about Roxette’s ticket sales. Here’s what he found out:

Out of curiosity I contactet the German concert agency that organizes Roxette’s German concerts and also the local organization staff for each
of the 4 German concerts in Cologne, Leipzig, Berlin and Oberursel. I got official confirmation today from Marek Lieberberg Konzertagentur (mlk.com)
that the Berlin gig is definitely sold out with 10.000 tickets. The
Hessentag staff responsible for the concert in Oberursel just e-mailed me
that by the end of December 5.000 tickets had been sold. By today ticket
sales have surpassed 10.000 already for the Roxette gig. Additionally they
let me know that the Hessentags-Arena will hold a capacity of 30.000
people for the Rox concert and that I should better hurry to buy tickets.
The agency responsible for the Cologne gig at Tanzbrunnen (DBE) wouldn’t
tell me the exact sales figures. But after I asked if the rumor was true
that already more than 5.000 of the ca. 10.000 tickets had been sold, the
reply was “we recommend to buy tickets soon!“. So I figure a substantial
number of tickets has already been sold. I’m still waiting for a response
for the Leipzig concert and will let you know what I heard if that is of
interest to you and this news site.

Thanks for the investigations, Thorsten! Of course all the other readers are invited to share interesting stories and news as well via our contact form or comments!

Meanwhile the recently added concert dates in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm appear to be deleted from roxette.se’s tour plan, while still part of Livenation’s. That doesn’t have to mean they are cancelled as we learned from the re-appearance of the Dubai gig. So let’s wait for the next tour update that Per indicated recently.

Berlin show sold out!

Roxette’s world tour concert in Berlin appears to be sold out at the biggest ticket vendor eventim.de. This could change again with additional contingents but indicates the nearing end of capacity. However, the promotion partner Spreeradio still has tickets on sale. So if you think about going there — don’t wait too long!

Update: A couple of hours later the other official ticket vendors like getgo.de and trinitymusic.de have sold out as well. Be cautious if you buy from unknown re-sellers! The normal price was between 59 and 62 €.

RAINBOWGIRL:

Great show, really wonderful! We managed to meet Christoffer and Clarence before the concert – they just walked by us! They were very friendly. There was about 5-6 of us and we all took a picture with them. We all had some little presents for Per and Marie and we asked Christoffer if he could give those to them. He was gladly willing to do that and joked that now he is going back like a Santa Clause!

Marie did very well at the concert, although she got a little confused with the lyrics of IMHBL. But she handled it very nicely and she looked wonderful, too. People were standing up all the time Roxette sang, and most were singing along.

After the show we tried to meet Per and Marie, but unfortunately it appeared that we were waiting at the wrong side of the hall. When the security guard told us that they are on the other side, we took an enormous run! I think I have never run so fast in my entire life. Unfortunately I arrived just in time to see Marie wave to fans and sit on the car. But I got to stand very close to the car and wave to Marie… and she waved back! So it was wonderful. And I am very happy that I had a chance to meet with Clarence and Chris and deliver the presents to Per and Marie. Hopefully next time I have better luck meeting them.
