“Travelling” to be released digitally in US in June

We have had this piece of news “hidden” in the other article about the US tour dates, but I think it’s worth mentioning it in addition: “Travelling” will be released digitally in the United States on June 5th.

“The idea has been to tap into all the positive energy that has boosted the band during this dazzling trip, and channel it into new Roxette music,” says EMI/Capitol a news release.

“In short, an album that, just like 1992’s ‘Tourism,’ captures the feeling of a band on a roll — constantly on the move, snatching inspiration as they go; recording in hotel rooms, studios, at sound-checks and in concert. The result is a fascinating musical postcard with 15 superb songs, most of which are new, some that are revisited classics and others being pearls that for various reasons haven’t seen the light of day before.”

“Travelling” to enter German charts at #7

Roxette’s latest album “Travelling” will enter the German charts at #7 on Friday. So far only new entries and other special changes got published by the chart company. The charts run from Friday to Thursday.

There was very tough competition in the release week. Madonna’s latest album “MDNA” entered on #3 behind German act Silbermond on #2 and Unheilig keeping the #1 spot from the previous week. Iron Maiden debuted on #4. The entries of Roxette’s previous studio albums:

Look Sharp: 30 (peak 7)
Joyride: 6 (peak 1)
Tourism: 1 (peak 1)
C! B! B!: 4 (peak 2)
HAND: 2 (peak 2)
Room Service: 4 (peak 3)
Charm School: 1 (peak 1)

Thanks to Dennis Korbel for the info!

First look at the LP

The LP version of “Travelling” comes without any new pictures. Instead the pics are just bigger.

The demo of “Me & You & Terry & Julie” is rocky and doesn’t point that the final version would have slow verses and a fast chorus. The demo of “Touched by the hand of God” (called Charm school) is also acoustic – Per and an acoustic guitar.

The tracklist order is also different on the vinyl, beginning with side B (track 5 on the Cd) every following ‘track-couple’ is switched with each other, Easy Way Out with It’s Possible, EMSDYWMTCUYW with Perfect Excuse and See Me with It’s Possible (Version 02).
