Roxette – It All Begins Where It Ends

Roxette’s new documentary – It All Begins Where It Ends – premiered on SVT1 at 22:30 CET, 26th December. All Roxers were too excited whether they can watch it later on SVT Play or not, but fortunately, right after the docu started on TV, it was already available on SVT Play. There was a 1-hour silence on Facebook, as the whole Roxer community was watching it eagerly. Our expectations were high after watching the teaser, but looking at all the comments regarding the documentary, we can say it exceeded our expectations.

Reading the articles on aftonbladet.se and on expressen.se (including a touching part of the documentary) made us a bit worrying. These articles are more about Marie’s illness, so we were wondering whether the docu is built totally on this or it’s an inevitable part to make everyone understand what a big thing is that Roxette were touring the world and to show how all this made Marie even stronger.

Well, the documentary is about so much more than Marie’s illness. See it with your own eyes here!

Per says on Roxette Official:

Thanks for the response re the Rox Doc and for practicing your Swedish! The version you can see here and there on the internet at the moment is exclusively edited for Swedish TV and will be longer on the DVD (and shorter on some international TV stations…). If God is good we’re looking at a March 2013 DVD/BluRay release date.

As he informed us earlier, the documentary “will be subtitled for each country”.

Per reveals title of the new Rox documentary

Per posted the info this afternoon on Roxette Official:  the title of the DVD will be “IT ALL BEGINS WHERE IT ENDS”. The title says it all and reading the comments, it seems to be very popular among all magic friends. How couldn’t it be?

Don’t forget that you can watch a shortened version of the documentary soon on SVT and as Per informs,  more international TV channels will follow shortly. Hopefully, we are not kept waiting so long for the release date of the DVD itself.

TV spots for “Radio” and “Charm School” in Germany

Advertising spots for Roxette’s new single “She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio)” and the album “Charm School” are broadcasted on Germany’s TV channels ProSieben, Sat1 and Kabel1. The longer spot (seen below) features audio snippets of the single and the album track “Speak To Me”. The speaker reminds of Roxette’s big successes and informs about the new CD release dates on January 28 and February 11, 2011. There’s another spot for the single only. And then we heard the channels are using the single also for show trailers. Looks like a full marketing package!

Update: Here’s the shorter single-only spot…

… and a cooperation spot by the TV channel.

Enjoy! 🙂

Roxette to perform on German television show “Die Ultimative Chart-Show”

On March 4th, Roxette will perform on another German TV show as EMI Germany confirmed this morning. The show is called “Die Ultimative Chart-Show” and is broadcast on RTL.

The show is nothing but a chart show coming with a certain motto and will be recorded on February 22th in Cologne. Roxette will play their latest single “She’s got nothing on (but the radio)”. Motto of the show is “the most famous synthiepop songs of all times”.

Tickets are still available HERE.

Additional info: The Chart-Show had between 3 and 3.5 million viewers in the last season. Normally the episodes get broadcast again after some months or even years. The show’s concept is a song countdown with videoclips based on the German charts/sales according to the motto. Some celebrities are talking and commenting the songs on a couch, while a couple of show acts perform on stage. Always one of the old charting hits, sometimes a new one as well. Sometimes playback, sometimes live.

Update 28-01-2011: both the broadcast and the recording dates haven’t been 100% confirmed by the production company. We will let you know as soon as we have this confirmation.

Disappointing NOTP radio broadcasts in Germany

Looking forward to the radio broadcasts of the NOTP shows of several German radio stations I listened to Bayern 3, WDR 2 and SWR 1 so far. After having spent three nights in front of the PC listening to the programmes the result is just disappointing:

Only Bayern 3 was able to bring us a “new” recording with “Wish I could fly” and “Joyride” from Munich. On some special they even played “It must have been love” AND interviewed Christoffer Lundquist and Clarence Öfwerman and played “The Look” from Munich, too. Unfortunately, the only thing that annoyed me on this show was the host who talked about Marie as a woman with silver hair. He reacted to emails very quick and admitted that he used some stuff from the CD and recordings from Antwerp/Rotterdam as well. But in the end – this was the best radio special about NOTP in Germany so far.

The next to come was the special on WDR2. They even splitted the NOTP broadcast in two parts on two nights, so I thought we were supposed to get some new stuff. In the end, they played “The Look” and “Listen to your heart” from of the official NOTP CD and “Joyride”, which most probably came from Rotterdam or Munich and was nothing new to us. The host said that Marie looks “static” on stage and that she hasn’t fully recovered yet – well, there is nothing MORE to recover for her. She will stay like that – I think. Of course, we all would be happy if it wasn’t, who knows. In fact the host thought she isn’t in the best of health and said it. In the end – no new recordings here, too.

SWR1 played “Wish I could fly” – which would have been nice to know, because they didn’t play it in the official NOTP hours but BEFORE the show started. Well, in the end there is nothing to be angry about because they also didn’t offer anything new but played the already known version from Munich. When the show started I was happy because they played live stuff which wasn’t on the CD, but now I think it also was the Munich stuff. Looking forward to Roxette the next disapppointment came immediately. Again: No new version of “The Look” and “It must have been love”, but another time from the CD.
Compared to what the Belgium and Dutch channels offered so far this is just really disappointing. But in the end the Belgian/Dutch shows were better as well. So it fits..

Looking to the future… the far away future… well, there will be a TV show about this year’s Proms on Deluxe Music around EASTER. A bit late, eller hur?

Full list:

The Look, Interview, It must have been love, Wish I could fly (from Munich)
Listen to your heart and The Look (from CD)
Joyride (from wherever..)
Thumbs up to Bayern 3, a big Boooh to WDR2 and SWR1 (although the SWR1 host was much nicer and seemed to know all the relevant facts about Marie)

Special about Roxette on Australian TV

Steve from Australia sent us following information:

A 90 minute Roxette Special has aired on Australian TV Channel “TVS”, which is a Sydney Community TV station. The special is a mix of clips from “Really Roxette”, “The Making of Joyride” and
Roxette videos. Some of the videos played were “The Big L”, “Real Sugar”, “Fingertips ’93”, “The Centre of the Heart”, “It Must Have Been Love” and “Almost Unreal” amongst many others.

The special aired on Prime-Time at 8:30pm on a Saturday night (Eastern Daylight Time!).

It has been a long time for us Aussies since we’ve seen such dedication to Roxette on Australian TV, even though it is Community TV.
