The Look was a very welcomed opener at Crocus City Hall, where Per played with Roxette almost exactly 4 years ago.

After MATAH Per said thanks to the crowd in Russian, spasiba, and then came a beautiful CBB.

The crowd was then Dressed For Success and before SGNO Chris played a little Kalinka intro for which the audience was very happy.

After SGNO Per said he had a good day in 1990 and he hasn’t had a good day ever since. No one was laughing, so he said it was a joke. Then people laughed. Haha. He told the crowd he woke up in the morning, found a note on his piano saying ”Hello, you fool, I love you”. It was left there by his girlfriend who is now his wife. He had to marry her because of that note. The audience cheered him and they shouted ”Åsa, Åsa Åsa”! How sweet! Per continued the story. He wrote Joyride and he was pleased with himself because it turned out pretty good. Then he had Swedish meatballs for lunch, he watched 3 or 4 Ingmar Bergman movies and then he wrote another song. They performed SMT.

Magnus’s fave song, IMHBL turned into a loud sing-along from the beginning till the end. OppNox and TBL were cool to party to. The front row was so close to the stage that Helena could touch the fans’ hands when she came to the front.

Before FLAF Per asked Magnus about the ’90s. Magnus started listing Russian girl names. Per asked him whether they were his girlfriends or his dogs. Magnus said he can’t remember that much, because he was born in 1991. Then came Helena’s powerful performance of FLAF.

HDYD and Dangerous were real party songs tonight. The teaser to HDYD worked fine with the crowd.

The band came back on stage for 2 encores. After QOR Helena thanked the crowd in Russian, spasiba.

Before TSHTSG Per asked the audience: ”One more before our train leaves?” Haha. He thanked the crowd for coming and having such a good time.

At the end of the show even Ola picked some plectrums from Per’s mic stand and threw them to the crowd.

PG after the gig:

MOSCOW. Yes, back at the Crocus City Hall and had a blast. Thanks everyone for showing up and making us feel very welcome indeed. Love to play here. Hope to come back very soon. Thanks all you Russian fans for your endless support and beautiful voices. Vids to come. Cheers from P.

Roxette 30th Anniversary Tour: Moscow, Russia – November 21 – #11

Who would have thought, but after all the ”best so far” gigs in Russia, Moscow became No. 1! The concert was officially sold out and 8000 people were there in the crowd to make noise. The crowd was really fab, their hands were in the air all the time and they were singing, jumping and dancing during the whole show. Those who attended the concert say they had an extraordinary experience. Roxette is a band that needs no support act to warm up the crowd. From what I could see, Moscow audience brought the most balloons during the Russian leg of the tour. They looked very good in the air during Joyride.

Perfect Day got back to the setlist to make it complete for the last Russian show. Marie was not sitting during any of the songs this time. Per was jumping even more than usual, Ms Effe sounded awesome and the band was on a high, too. So much on a high that Dea, Mister Magnus and Chris came off the stage during The Look and went close to the crowd to party a bit together with them. So cool! This show was a perfect way to celebrate Clarence birthday’s eve. Grattis, Clarence!

Roxette to play the last concert of 2011 in Russia

SAV Entertainment, a company that was responsible e.g. for organizing two Russian Roxette shows in 2010, has just announced that Roxette is due to perform in Moscow on December 1st this year. The concert will take place in Crocus City Hall, a multipurpose two-level concert hall that can accommodate over 6,000 people. It is said to be the closing show for this year’s tour.

Thanks to Evgeny Perekopskiy for this information.

Note: we’ve heard more than once hints that the tour should go on in 2012. Of course, no details are available, so we base these speculations on some statements done by Per and Marie, like that the tour lasts one year, that Per mentioned Halmstad may be in the plan “next year”. And, of course, that they might play in the USA.
