Valencia has just witnessed the 30th show on the Roxette In Concert tour. Roig Arena greeted us with an amazing facade (check it HERE) and all the people were taking selfies / photos with it before entering the venue.
The doors opened at 19:00 and there was no support act, so Roxette went on stage at 21:00. The Spanish shows in summer were very loud and amazing, so I expected Valencia to be loud as well, but I somehow couldn’t imagine the show could even top Copenhagen. Well, it could! Oh my God! What an absolutely awesome gig it was!
It was a fully seated concert, but we didn’t use our seats too much. Thanks to the hardcore Spanish front row, the whole arena got on their feet. The longtime Roxers in the front stood up already during the first song and the entire audience followed them. People were undecisive during the ballads, so some of them sat down, some of them stayed standing and there was a mix of it too: the ones who sat down in the beginning, but couldn’t keep their asses on the seats and stood up after a little while.
The crowd reactions were fantastic. When each and every song started to play, they reacted with an „aaah”, noticing that a hit came after a hit. They were singing along loudly, clapping and dancing. The gang on stage got pretty fuelled by this and they were even more powerful than in Denmark. You could see all those happy faces on and off stage. Magical feeling it was!
Per greeted the crowd with an „hola!” and said Valencia is a truly wonderful city. This is the first time he is here and he just loves it. The audience was cheering for him. Lena also greeted the crowd with an „hola!” and said she feels great. In Valencia you are always happy. The crowd accepted her warmly.
Before Per presented the band, he asked the crowd if a Saturday night is always like this in Valencia. He has to move here then. Haha. The crowd rewarded it with a longer „olé! olé! olé! olé!”.
Chris played the Anthem of Valencia as the intro to Joyride. The crowd was singing along loudly and released some heart-shaped balloons in the front row. Lena was also playing with those balloons that ended up on stage.
At the end of the show, front row fans held up TACK signs to thank for the concert. The band appreciated it.
