Gyllene Tider sommaren 2013

TV4 broadcasted an approximately 70-minute-long cut of Gyllene Tider’s summer tour. Unfortunately, it is available only in Sweden, but here you can read a short summary of it and see some screenshots.

It’s a fantastic documentary with tons of live footage from several shows, mainly Skövde, Eskilstuna, Stockholm and Ullevi, Göteborg. Grumpy Production did a great job! The whole program is nicely cut, it’s of very high quality and contains a great mix of interviews with band members, their travelling around Sweden, joking and having fun backstage, performing live on stage, crowd scenes, the walk to the stage, short interviews with fans and Ms Dimberg, Thomas Johansson, Micke Syd’s mum and dad, Mats Olsson journalist, etc., the stage decoration being cut into parts and signed by the Golden Guys, then given to fans at the last show and we can see some meet & greet scenes. One can even get to know the recipe of a perfect cocktail from Micke Syd. Oh! And the yellow radio has an important role again.

My gosh! Even without seeing a complete concert in this docu you can relive the tour. You feel you are back in time, it’s summer, you are standing in the front row and going crazy for Gyllene Tider, singing along, jumping and shouting. Awesome!

The songs (no complete songs, but almost) you can hear & see performed live:

You can hear some other short GT tunes as well, however, I missed Flickorna på TV2 and Billy from the live footage, but something must be left for the DVD, too. 😉 No release date is set for the DVD yet, but hopefully, we don’t have to wait too long. Provide us with a live CD, too, please!

PS: You can see PG wearing glasses in the docu for a short while. And I’m not talking about sunglasses. 😉

Busy St. Lucy’s day for the fans

You already saved the date in your calendar, as we already informed you that the 1-hour-long part of ”Tack för musiken” in which Marie Fredriksson is the guest will be broadcasted on SVT1 at 21:00 CET, 13th December. The show was recorded at the end of August and many fans could buy tickets and be there in the audience. It is going to be a fantastic show with Marie performing some of her songs live and a long interview with her done by Niklas Strömstedt.

Before you can enjoy watching Ms Effe on TV, you’ll have a chance to see another program on another channel, TV4. ”Gyllene Tider sommaren 2013” starts at 20:00 CET the very same evening. This will be an appetizer from the upcoming DVD. It will contain parts of the ”Dags att tänka på refrängen” tour, as well as some exclusive shots from the backstage. One bad thing about Swedish TV channels – understandably – competing with each other is that the GT stuff ends at 21:30. Fingers crossed that both programs will be available online after they are over on TV.

Oh, one more thing! Hopefully, history won’t repeat itself and we won’t have to wait another year for the GT DVD after this TV cut is broadcasted. 😉

Gyllene Tider’s clear vinyl

gylleneclear

As GT informed about it on Facebook and we could see it in our mailboxes, there was a mistake in the factory and ”Singel #2 / Dags att tänka på refrängen” single – which was planned to be a clear vinyl – has been released on standard black vinyl. It will be a rare item it seems.

Bengans informs in their newsletter that the transparent version is out on 6th December. You can contact them if you want a replacement of your black vinyl. They write they would send the clear vinyl as a replacement, not on top. Just contact them that you want to have the clear version, too and let’s see if they can send it the way Ginza does. They confirmed they will send us the clear version automatically, free of charge once it is on stock at them.

Tracklist of the double A-side vinyl single:

A1: Singel #2

A2: Dags att tänka på refrängen
A3: Dags att tänka på refrängen #2

”Singel #2” has 3 verses instead of 2, just like in the demo version and the vinyl is a must if you are a fan of Micke Syd’s voice, since in the first verse of ”Dags att tänka på refrängen #2” Mr Gessle and Micke Syd are singing a duet. Quite an interesting version if you ask me. 😉

Thanx for the info re Bengans newsletter to Nicol Roxette.

Gyllene Tider’s second single out of DATPR: Dags att tänka på refrängen and Singel

datpr singelThe next single off “Dags att tänka på refrängen” will be “Dags att tänka på refrängen” and “Singel”, which will also be released as a double A-side vinyl single featuring these tracks:

Side A1:
Singel #2

Side A2:
Dags att tänka på refrängen (album version)
Dags att tänka på refrängen #2.

As Gyllene Tider wrote on Facebook, Singel #2 has three verses instead of 2. And on DATPR #2 the first verse is sung by Per and Micke Syd together.

Release date is September 18.

The cover of the single was shared today on FB by Thomas Evensson.

Gyllene Tider ROCKED Tele2 Arena – front row report

This is how I summarized Gyllene Tider’s Ullevi concert about 2 weeks ago: P-U-R-E A-W-E-S-O-M-E-N-E-S-S!  Multiply it by at least 5 and you get to know how Stockholm gig was! I doubted that Ullevi can be topped, but these 5 guys made it! Incredible energy from the very first second of the show till the very end that made everyone sweat on and off stage. It was the best concert I’ve seen during the tour, no question. Per was bouncing around all the time with a smile from ear to ear, MP was also smiling during the whole gig and did a great show, DJ Fritzon was in supertop shape, Anders was simply fantastic and Micke Syd’s acting with the crowd and the cameras was just awesome. There were more cameras this time, so most probably there is much more material from this show than from any other. Fingers crossed for a decent DVD.

Tele2 Arena in Stockholm is a new venue. Actually, it’s not completely ready yet, but Gyllene Tider’s gig was the first musical event organized in it. It was planned to be an open air concert, but the roof was closed. Maybe because of the short, but heavy rain in the afternoon. It was quite strange – Sommartider in an arena with a closed roof…, huh? Anyway, the 5 energy bombs on stage rocked it big time.

Sound of the arena surely needs to be improved, though, as the echo was frustrating. It was good when the crowd was singing along, but a bit annoying when Per was singing. Fortunately, there was less echo in the front. 1/3 of the arena was closed and the stage was set up on the shorter side of the venue. Approximately 23000 fans attended the show.

As Per said in the TDR interview, Marie didn’t appear on stage this time and there was no other surprise either. But who needs any surprises when you get to attend a gig like this??? Amazing!

I can’t believe that this is my last report of the concerts I was attending. I had a fantastic Swedish summer and 7 unforgettable gigs. Det är över nu for me, but the rest of the tour will surely be filled with a lot of energy. I wish all of you who are still on tour to enjoy it to the full. The Fab Five deserve all attention, sing-along, clapping, shouting, jumping and waving and even more!

As this was my last concert, I’d like to highlight again the great job the security team is doing at each gig during this tour. Hats off to Show Security Sweden! Go to other countries and show them how to do it! Thanx for all your support so far and during the rest of the tour.
