Let’s help Roxette to make their setlist!

THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE

The idea is very simple.

You write down your own TOP 3 of Roxette’s songs you would like to hear on the concert(s?) in 2010. No 1 gets 3 points, no 2 – 2 points, no 3 – 1 point. In the end of March we will summerize all the lists and make the final setlist. We do hope the Man will read it and… use it 🙂

So, join the joyride everybody!

Edit: TOP 12 so far… /February 4th, 9.30 CET/

1. The sweet hello, the sad goodbye
2. Silver blue
3. Run to you
4. Keep me waiting
5. Fading like a flower
6. You don’t understand me
7-8. Watercolours in the rain / June Afternoon
9-12. Hotblooded / Jefferson / Crush on you / Breathe

    3. possibly the new single if it’s already out by then or at least as a pre-release surprise if they manage to practise it enough? Wishful thinking 🙂

  8. I think we have a unique chance to suggest songs that have never been played live. It is really rare that Per is accepting suggestions from the fans, it’s not something he has done in the past (or was willing to do). So, what’s the point of suggesting songs they have performed a million times before?

Sure, I love Perfec Day, CBB, Dressed for Success, Fading like a Flower and so on, but none of those songs would add anything special to the show. Besides, chances are, they will play those songs anyways since are all roxette classics.

And we shouldn’t dream either: As much as I love The Sweet Hello The Sad Goodbye, they surely won’t play a B-side. And as for the new song, well, no point in suggesting that one either. If the single is out by the time of the concert, they WILL play it, simply because it’s great promotion. If the single is not out by then, then they won’t play it, no matter how many times we vote for it.

    My 3 choices are:
1-Like Lovers Do: this one is like “Dressed for Success”, it will have everyone dancing. It has a very uplifting melody, I love it. I believe it was played live only once in Sweden in the badrock festival.
2-Never is a long time: beautiful song, very very soft and I’d love to listen to it live.
3-I Remember You: fantastic, forgotten song. One of the best from the Joyride album I believe.

And regarding the mega hits… they just HAVE to play “How Do You Do!”. They played it on very few occasions and we don’t have good recordings from those shows. Per has said a lot of times that it’s very difficult to play it live, but they could do a different version or have some pre-recorded elements of the song mixed with the live sound (is what Annie Lennox does in some of her songs like “No More I Love You’s” or “Why” to keep their unique sound when performed live, specially backing vocals and the special effects track – check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zULurmlKO2s&NR=1).

  9. Did I forget to mention “JUNE AFTERNOON” yet? :-p

I wouldn’t mind hearing Marie try “Do You Get Excited” now and yes, as someone mentioned, they can’t keep skipping “How Do You Do!” – They could have some real fun with that song.

But ultimately, we need a live “JUNE AFTERNOON” 🙂

  10. @AbominableSnowman: They also have played Like lovers do live before. 😉 But you’re right, of course, they will play their hits anyway. So we better choose something not “ordinary”. I have always dreamt of hearing Silver Blue and DYGE live ONCE in my life. If this is the one chance I get I go for these. 🙂 I can imagine some people have never seen Roxette on stage and die to hear The Look – so I can see where they’re coming from…. they will, of course, play it, I am sure.. 😉

And now I add another three for my friend Ella.

    1.) Shadow of a doubt
    2.) Do you get excited
    3.) Silver Blue

  11. Well, I’ll just write down my 3 suggestions and they will decide, if they are appropriate or not.
A very hard choice, but here they are:

    I’m sorry
    I call your name
    Surrender
