Comment from Dominick Abrams-Anderson

The setlist for tonights show was the same as Ottawa except for the song intro to Joyride. Tonight Christoffer played a famous guitar lick instead of a melody to song, unfortunately I recognized the lick but can’t tell you what song it was from!!! Hopefully someone else will know it. One thig I can tell you is that he also repeated this lick one more time during the last seconds of the song (which was cool).

We Canadians may be more laid back than other crowds but let me tell you LOVE was in the air tonight. Everyone sang in all the right places and you could tell that the band was really touched by the loud response and cheers. It’s impossible to describe… the whole night was very surreal for me. I was even crying from joy during the fast songs! One other moment that was notable was that Marie knocked her microphone stand over during 7twenty7 when she was doing one of her slow turns with her arms spread out. She noticed to late and held her hands to her ears and flinched from the noise. A stangehand quickly reset it for her.

Besides that one slip (and of course the usual moment or two of mixing up some lyrics) Marie truly was in TOP SHAPE tonight. Her facial expressions were especially animated…she was go good with the crowd. What more can I say? Oh…I was literally laughing out lous so hard for most of Joyride because people (including myself) kept getting hit in the head by the “wonderful balloons”.

Roxette are in Canada – the first concert today!

Roxette with the band have finally arrived to Ottawa, Canada where they are going to play their very first full North American concert in 20 years! As the promotional campaign is in the full speed, Per Gessle gave several interviews for both radio and print outlets.

Here are the most interesting quotes from him from OttawaCitizen.com

“Two countries in the world released the first Roxette album – it was Canada and Sweden, Gessle says of the group’s 1986 debut, Pearls of Passion. We have a very long relationship with Canada. It’s always been amazing.”

But as much fun as they’re having, Gessle admits that a long break after the tour will be best for band and fans alike. “Everyone is on their knees by now, he says of the gruelling schedule. And how can you miss us if we won’t go away?”

Per also did a 5-question Q&A for Lite 95.7 based in Edmonton. Have a listen!

Roxette to release Canadian Hits! edition

It has become a kind of tradition to release the ‘local’ version of “Hits!” compilation when Roxette do more than few concerts in one country. After South African, German and Australian edition – it’s a high time for Canada. According to Amazon.de the album will be out one week before Roxette’s very first North American concert in Ottawa on August 29.

The updated tracklist published by Archabault.ca includes two different songs – “She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio)” replaced “Reveal” & “The Sweet Hello, The Sad Goodbye” came in for “Milk & Toast & Honey”.
