Roxette XXX Tour – Melbourne, Australia – February 20 – #20

Some hours before showtime Per promised ”hitting Melbourne hard tonite”. And they did! Most Roxers who attended several gigs during the New Zealand – Australia leg of the tour said this concert was the best so far. We hear it quite often when it comes to Roxette, don’t we? Even those who saw them at the same venue almost exactly 3 years ago said tonight was something more special. I tend to believe them.

Marie again decided to be sitting during the whole show, so one could be very sure about the fact that her singing would be extra sensational. She sings her heart & soul out gig by gig. Per and the band were also full of energy and rocked the stage, acting a lot, paying a lot of attention to Marie. The crowd loved every minute and showed how to party, standing and dancing from the very beginning instead of sitting in their seats. They also knew the lyrics well enough to sing along each and every song.

Many in the crowd mentioned this is how a band should sound live and Roxette should teach other groups how to do it right. It’s oh so true!

There was no change in the setlist vs. the last 2 concerts.

Per & Marie & Co. about the outstanding concert:

MELBOURNE GIG SUMMARY. We had an unforgettable evening tonite. Thanx for showing up all you 9000 Roxers. i know you had a good time judging by your faces + the noise you made singing!!!! Truly fantastic. What a lovely Friday! Lots of love from P&M&Co.

Next gig is on Saturday (21st February) in Yarra Valley (A Day on the Green), Australia. A big part of tonight’s Rod Laver Arena party Roxers will probably show up also at Rochford Wines to see the band again.

During the concert, the number of InstaRoxers became 1000. In case you are not following Roxette on Instagram yet, click here to reach their account that was created only a week ago or look for @realroxette on insta.

Roxette XXX Tour – Adelaide, Australia – February 17 – #19

The third Australian concert happened in Adelaide tonight. Fortunately, it was the same day as One Direction’s Adelaide gig, so there was no chance for the band to attend yet another 1D show and thousands of Aussies could show they have a great taste in music, so they chose and went to see Roxette. The concert turned out to be a blast. The band could have the whole crowd on their feet and the audience was singing along and dancing through the night, enjoying hearing their most fave Rox hits.

This time Marie decided to be sitting from the very beginning of the concert, so she could concentrate more on her singing, which of course, blew the whole crowd away and the audience felt very proud of her. Marie was smiling all the time and showed how she enjoyed the whole thing. Per was on a high and the band joined him with the same mood. Some said they have never seen such an animated crowd in Adelaide, so they certainly did a great job.

One couldn’t keep up with all the fab short clips Per posted after the concert ended. He spent appr. 2 hours with sharing many-many videos Åsa recorded at the show. Check out Roxette’s Facebook page to watch them!

The setlist was the same as in Perth, so sadly, Perfect Day, 7Twenty7 and Queen Of Rain are not yet back.

Per’s comment after the gig:

ADELAIDE: Yes and wow! What a gig! Superb crowd and a very motivated band. Can’t go wrong with that hit bonanza the last 45 minutes!!!! Thanx for coming, we felt unstoppable tonight. See y’all in Melbourne. /P.

Next gig is on Friday (20th February) in Melbourne, Australia.

“Some other dude” goes viral

It definitely wasn’t intended to end like this, but some person who visited the Roxette show in Perth made an expression written in an angry posting go viral. Disappointed by Marie, writing that she shouldn’t be on stage when she’s not well and not leave “some other dude” singing.

It didn’t take long and the post – or to be more specific that “other dude” went viral. While we have no intention to embarrass the visitor more than it already happened, this “some other dude” joke is too funny to not share.

In the meantime, the post has been deleted, but the “some other dude” memes make their way through the social networks.
The Daily Roxette joined in with this one:

Earlier, some fans already had great ideas how to use Per’s name. The following photos are courtesy of Alexandra N., Basia K., Ricardo A. H., Marie D. and “some other dudes”.

Official Roxette profile on Instagram

If you are a Roxer and enjoy everything what all the social media platforms bring you related to our beloved band, you can’t miss following Roxette’s official Instagram profile. Their account is @realroxette and went live on 13th February with sharing the It Must Have Been Love single sleeve with this text and hashtag: ”Finally! We have an Instagram. Remember this? #ItMustHaveBeenLove”.

The second pic has been posted today. We could see a lovely shot on Roxette’s Facebook page from before the show, from the band’s dressing room in Perth, but you’ll see a different angle on Instagram. With love from Perth. So far, the #ItMustHaveBeenLove hashtag seems to be very popular, however, for collecting more followers adding the hashtag #Roxette would be quite helpful.

How active this account will be we don’t know. If it is also run by our favourite oPERator, we don’t know either, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s him handling that profile, the social media guru he is. Either way, start following them there, too if you already have an Instagram account. If you don’t own a profile yet, maybe it’s time to create one.

Roxette XXX Tour – Perth, Australia – February 14 – #18

Many thought it was a good idea to go and see Roxette on 14th Feb, so Perth Arena was quite packed. The band proved it was the best way the crowd could spend their Valentine’s Day. Marie changed the tiger pattern jacket she was wearing in Brisbane for a white jacket and she had a pair of very hot pants on. Even if it seemed to be a bad leg day for her (she was sitting during 2/3 of the show), her performance was still so powerful and one could realize again she’s such an inspiration. The band made the whole audience jump up from their seats and dance, as well as sing along loudly.

There were changes in the setlist. Fading Like A Flower just had to be back, since it has always been a huge hit in Australia. Almost Unreal stayed on the setlist though and came as the first extra song. Perfect Day was sadly left out and Watercolours In The Rain / Paint was performed at its place instead. 7Twenty7 wasn’t played.

Per shared their view on the show right after it had ended:

PERTH! Yes. Wonderful gig in wonderful Perth. Thanx everyone for singing along and showing some serious boogie-moves this hot Saturday! See you next time, dears!!!! Cheers from P&M&Co

Next gig is on Tuesday (17th February) in Adelaide, Australia.
