Now it’s 100% sure: Gyllene Tider at Allsång på Skansen

In an earlier article of ours we informed you about a rumour that according to Aftonbladet, Gyllene Tider will participate in this year’s Allsång på Skansen. Per kind of confirmed the rumour by sharing the article, but now that Expressen is writing about it and Micke Syd confirmed GT’s appearance in an e-mail to Expressen, we can be 100% sure.

Micke Syd promised some new and some old songs to be played at Skansen. About how it feels to perform at Skansen he writes:

It feels good. It’s a beautiful place with an audience singing amazingly well.

It’s still not clear which Tuesday Gyllene Tider is there, but the complete list of artists will be announced on 11th June, so then we might know more about the date as well.

Awesome Gyllene Tider site on Hallandsposten.se

An incredibly awesome Gyllene Tider site is now created on Hallandsposten.se under ”Nöje & Kultur” menu. How cool is that! You can find there EVERYTHING about Gyllene Tider. From old articles via the flow of their social media sites to Hallandsposten’s visit in their rehearsal studio last Thursday. There is only one single problem: you can get access to anything only if you are a subscriber. Without a subscription you can check the main menu of GT’s site, which looks just fantastic. It’s a great idea from Hallandsposten. Now their number of subscribers will most probably increase like hell. 😉

Gyllene Tider at Allsång på Skansen

According to Aftonbladet, Gyllene Tider will most probably be one of the guests at Allsång på Skansen. SVT has not yet confirmed the list of artists.

Allsång på Skansen (Sing-along at Skansen) is a Swedish show held at Skansen, Stockholm. SVT broadcasts it on Tuesdays between 8 pm and 9 pm CET every summer. The audience (10 000 – 25 000 people) is supposed to sing-along with musical guests to well-known Swedish songs.

This year’s Allsång på Skansen premieres on 25th June (lasts until 13th August). Looking at the tour agenda, the Fabulous Five are free each Tuesday, but might be busy with travelling from one place to another, so as the GT tour starts on 5th July and ends on 10th August, the guys – if they really take part in this year’s program – may appear at the show on 25th June, 2nd July or 13th August. We’ll let you know about the exact date once it is announced.

Gyllene Tider already appeared in this program in 2004 and Per also took part in it in 2003 and 2007. Here are some of their performances at those shows:

1.5-hour-long interview with Per Gessle

Kristoffer Triumf (Värvet) made a long long long long long interview with Per on 30th April, 2013. This is 100% interview, containing no music in between. Värvet, an amateur radio channel is known for making such interesting interviews with popular Swedish people, talking about their working life and being human. It’s in Swedish, but one has to get used to it: if you’re a fan of Roxette / PG / Ms Effe / GT, you have to practice your Swedish every now and then.

Click here for the interview. You can even download it.

Per is talking about everything from how he’s writing songs, what kind of music he is listening to via the Roxette tour, Gyllene Tider’s new album to how he’s managing all the social media sites and what he’s sharing there (song of the day, videos he makes in the studio with his iPhone, old video clips, etc.). There are some thoughts about how music and ”artists” have changed during the past years.

We also get to know that Per is walking 8-9 km in 1 hour 15 minutes each morning and probably that’s why he’s so fit. When he’s on holiday or when on tour, he’s visiting the gym. He tells he weighed himself before and after a gig and lost 2.5kg during one concert. He’s also talking about how much time he’s spending with his appearance.

Kristoffer asked him if he’s a feminist. Per asked back what it means. Kristoffer explained and Per said he is. They are also talking about how eccentric Per is and what eccentric means at all.

Per says Knallpulver (the only instrumental song on Gyllene Tider’s new album, Dags att tänka på refrängen) was inspired by a garage band. Then he made the demo in his hotel room in Curitiba.

We already heard it in some interviews, but he said it again regarding how to choose singles that he’s not too good at it. He didn’t really believe in Wish I Could Fly, for example. He finds it exciting to see why people like certain songs, so on Facebook he’s asking questions about which songs fans like and why.

Per, as a fan is also telling 2 anecdotes of meeting Tom Petty.

He’s talking about his childhood, tells no one knew how to pronounce ”Gessle” correctly – his grandfather’s name was Johansson and his father changed it to Gessle.

They are talking about how much of a businessman he is and how much he is involved in the daily operation of Hotel Tylösand. Per has 7 cars now and is not using public transportation (bus or subway) in Sweden (surprise, surprise…).

Kristoffer asked Per who he thinks Kristoffer should make an interview with. Per suggested Marie. So, we hope for a Marie Fredriksson interview on Värvet.

After the interview Mr. G went home for lunch, eating char (röding -> fish) with his family.

Awesome Gyllene Tider signing session photos

You may remember Expressen’s article about a big chaos when Gyllene Tider had their signing session in Halmstad. Well, journalists like colouring their headlines and of course, there was no chaos at all, but what is very true in the article is that Basia Konarzewska, a great Polish Roxer, was flying to Sweden with a friend of hers to be present on the signing sessions in Halmstad and Kungsbacka. Basia had a fantastic weekend with the guys and she took some awesome photos of the two sessions she was attending. Judge them yourself by clicking here. Happy faces all around! 😉
