Seminar about Marie’s book at Göteborg Book Fair

It seems that a seminar related to our beloved artists is a must at the Göteborg Book Fair lately. It’s the third year in a row when a Roxette / Per Gessle / Marie Fredriksson book is out and there is a seminar about them. In 2013 it was Sven Lindström’s fabulous Roxette – Den osannolika resan tur och retur, last year besides a cool pop quiz (1; 2; videos) it was Per’s most awesome books, Songs, Sketches & Reflections and Texter, klotter & funderingar and this year it’s Marie’s long-awaited biography, Kärleken till livet.

It would be wonderful to meet Marie at the book fair, but it seems that it will be only Helena von Zweigbergk, the author of the book who will appear there and talk about the book. The seminar is on Saturday, 26th September. It starts at 12:30 and lasts for 20 minutes. See the seminar program at THIS link on page 51. Helena will surely share much information at the book fair.

The book’s actual publishing date is 14th October according to the publishing company Piratförlaget, but it’s still 7th October appearing at Ginza, Bengans etc.

Marie’s biography as an audio book

As you already know, Marie Fredriksson’s long-awaited biography is planned to be published later this year. Well, Ginza, Bengans and CDON have already listed the book, so we can see the title will be Kärleken till livet (= Love for life). What is incredibly interesting is that it is listed as an audio book, CD with mp3 sound format. Wow! Wow! And once again: Wow! That’s what you call exciting! I have to add that CDON has a hardcover edition listed, too.

This is what CDON writes about the book:

“I just want to talk about it as it is. No fuss. Just simply and straightly about how it has been.” Marie Fredriksson presented her book idea to author Helena von Zweigbergk with these words.
Marie’s life has included a lot of drama. Growing up in poverty in the countryside in Skåne. Her family suffered from severe sadness when one of her sisters died in a car accident. Major breakthrough as an artist in Sweden and then an international career with Roxette. And then the disaster. The brain tumor that came as a death sentence. Marked by her illness, she stands on the stage today. Right now she is out on a world tour with Roxette again.
In the book about Marie Fredriksson she and her closest will talk. It is a story of great love, sorrow, incomparable success and revenge against all odds – thanks to the love for life.

Publishing date is 7th October 2015. Yee-haa!

Biography about Marie Fredriksson out in autumn

As Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter wrote today, IMG_01762a biography about Marie Fredriksson will be published in autumn by Piratförlaget.

The initiative for the (auto)biography came from Marie Fredriksson herself and Helena von Zweigbergk, the author of the book, has been visiting Marie at her place for the past one and a half years to talk about her life. “She really wants to tell things in a very touching way. About her childhood, which was not always easy, about her illness and how she managed to come back so strong”, tells Helena von Zweigbergk to DN. “I think she is one of Sweden’s greatest singers. She speaks to you when she sings. It’s one of her special skills, to bring forward an emotional story in her music.”

Helena attended some concerts of Marie’s solo tour last year and talked to some fans about Marie, and followed Roxette to Australia during the 30th Anniversary tour.

It will surely be one of the highlights of the year!
