Roxette announces North America tour

2026 marks 40 years since Roxette released their debut album and launched one of the most successful international careers in Swedish pop history. To celebrate, the global pop powerhouse will tour North America this fall in their new and celebrated form, performing timeless hits including The Look, Listen to Your Heart, Joyride and It Must Have Been Love, which recently surpassed one billion streams on Spotify.

With over 80 million albums sold and countless number-one hits across Europe, the U.S., Latin America and Asia, Roxette remains the Swedish act with the most US Billboard No. 1 singles – four in total.

Promoted by Live Nation, the 14-city tour kicks off Thursday, September 10 at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, MI, with stops across North America.

After what were believed to be Roxette’s final shows in 2016, few expected the music to return to the stage in this way. Nearly six years after the heartbreaking loss of Marie Fredriksson – deeply felt by fans around the world – Per Gessle has reignited the flame. Joined by Sweden’s beloved artist Lena Philipsson, he brings the legacy back on tour for a new era.

More than four decades on, Roxette’s music continues to unite longtime fans and win over new audiences around the world. The 2026 anniversary tour celebrates the band’s lasting impact and legendary catalogue.

Special guests Taylor Dayne and Nick Lowe & Los Straitjackets will join Roxette on tour as support.

20 tour dates for 2016?

Per says in the Kappahl interview that the plan is to go on with the tour until 2016 (asDSC00278 he already mentioned many times before, and that would be the meaning behind the whole XXX tour, as Roxette turns 30 in 2016!).

Now he revealed that Roxette plans to do about 80 dates until 2016. If you count the dates until Drammen (Norway) on August 22, that makes up to 61 dates. Which means about 20 would be left to be announced / planned. And this raises lots of questions:

Will these dates be in 2016 only? Will there be more in 2015? Where will it take Roxette to? South Africa? South America? North America? Some more Europe / Sweden to celebrate the 30th anniversary “home”? Lots of questions for our never-resting minds!

What we know for sure is that fans are longing to see more of Roxette live, both those who have been to (many) shows since the tour started and those who haven’t seen Roxette since at least 2012. And that The Look 2015 is awesome. And that we cannot wait until the new album is out! And that we already need the tour dates for 2016.

USA fans getting ready for Roxette’s visit: fan meeting, contest and more!

In less than two weeks Roxette will be rocking the Beacon Theatre in New York. This will be the first concert out of four of Roxette in USA and a group of six Roxette fans are preparing some nice events to celebrate and enjoy the party together.

These fans have created a group in Facebook where they share and organise everything.

Here is an overview so you don’t miss a thing:

– “The Big A.” – Fan meeting in New York before the concert. Meeting point is Boat Basin Café at around 6 p.m. EDT. More information in this event here.

– Contest to win a Meet&Greet with Roxette in one of the 4 shows.  Six contests have been set up (ie create banners, take pictures of your collection, create a piece of art…).
Check this file out for detailed information on how to participate and win!
Note: it’s for USA citizens or residents only! RoxetteBlog will be the jury in one of the contests.

– The Roxette in North America T-shirt! The team has designed a t-shirt for the occasion, which could be ordered by anyone interested. You can see the design here.

More events may show up the next days.

Thank you Miedy Bishop, Adam Bishop, Lana Sachse, Jennifer Malcome, Marc Tannen and Kemerly for organising all this! See you next week.
