Roxette’s Norway concert this Friday moved to another location

Roxette’s concert in Haugesund, Norway got moved from Rådhusplassen to Flotmyr. The former location has become an important focal point for the city’s population to gather in grief over the recent terror tragedy in Norway. Artists and organizers show their respect in using a different location. Manager Bjorn Gerry Viksund says in a statement:

We hope that Friday’s concert will be a positive and wonderful experience, and a little diverson after all what has happened. It is a great opportunity to be with people we love, and a place to celebrate music and life.

World Tour 2011: Stavern, Norway – July 7 #44

Comment from Per Gessle

Thank you dear Stavern-people! We had a blast, you were singing so loud Pelle’s earplugs fell out!!! Great show, Marie in top shape and no rust whatsoever on this band after 9 days off the road. Clarence and myself have a slight cold of some sorts but we loved it anyway. Hope to come back to this beautiful place! Sleep now. Cheers, P.

Roxette to take part in Norwegian festival in Tromsø

Organizators of Døgnvillfestivalen in the Northern Norwegian city of Tromsø announced that Roxette is set to perform during this year’s festival. The festival takes place between the 1st and 3rd September and Roxette is said to perform on Thursday (September 1st). This makes the 4th Roxette concert in Norway this year and the 69th (!!!) on the World Tour 2011 schedule.

The festival’s director Hogne Rundeberg said:

This is one of the bands on the list of ultimate bookings for us and we are looking forward to this historic event. We have a tradition to have great artists with us and this concert is a guaranteed singalong – in the same way as the a-ha’s gig last year.

Other Swedish artists like Robyn, Veronica Maggio or The Cardigans are going to perform there as well. It is the third largest festival in Norway with over 13,000 people participating.
