NOTP tour: no tickets for the last two Rotterdam shows

Just a short note to let you know: If you plan to go to the Rotterdam shows on November 23rd and 24th – this won’t be possible. Funnily both dates are mentioned on roxette.se but don’t show up on the official NOTP site or the ticket sites. I sent a short mail to Dirk Hohmeyer, the organizer of the German shows and he replied that on both days shows are held for employees of a big company, these shows are private so to speak. If you manage to get in tell us how it was – of course.

Update: As Project_Z tells us, the show on Sunday November 8th in Antwerp is also a “closed” concert.

Deluxe Music will broadcast (older) NOTP stuff

Deluxe Music logoIn a newsletter sent yesterday the German NOTP organization announced that a music channel called Deluxe Music will broadcast NOTP during autumn and winter.  Starting in November, Deluxe Music presents the Nokia Night of the Proms 2006-2008.  On December 20th and 27th Deluxe Music continues the special with shows called “best of early years”.

On January 1st we will get see a “day of the Proms” with unseen material, interviews and pictures from “behind the scenes”. It’s not clear whether the 2009 stuff is included or not.  Since it’s not mentioned it most probably won’t be part of the special at all.

Deluxe Music  is a free-to-air channel you can watch via Astra or German cable and even internet live stream.

Sorry for my poor English. It’s late, I am tired but I needed to write it though. 😉

What do we expect after all?

So, it’s only 18 days to go until they’re back on stage. Seven years,  a cruel illness and several solo albums later Roxette will be live on stage again.
When I listened to the remastered version of  “Listen to your heart” I suddenly felt what the Night of the Proms could become for all of us. To hear these songs with a big orchestra will be an extraordinary, breathtaking and brandnew feeling for all of us.

And of course, it’s a big chance to see Per and Marie live again. And it’s most probably the biggest tour they will and certainly also CAN do. So, what are your expectations? Do you join the tour at all? Which shows will you attend and can you live with the fact they’re doing five songs only? Are you anxious? Since I am a big Marie fan I can tell that I still hope she really CAN do this tour, handle the stress and the fans and simply enjoy every minute on stage. It’s clear that we really should enjoy every second we get!

New Roxette picture

Per and Marie met for an interview about “The Look” and sent a brand new Roxette picture with it.

“A brand new photo of Roxette at EMI Studios, Stockholm. Roxette has been interviewed by Magnus Broni who’s making a documentary about “The Look.” Magnus has been all over the US interviewing Brian Philips (former EMI boss) and Dean Cushman (former exchange student), among others.”

Update: Another new picture has been uploaded to roxette.se. Have a look at the sheet of paper. Looks like the NOTP arrangement, ain’t it?

Christina Stürmer completes NOTP line-up

Austrian singer Christina Stürmer will be the special guest at the Night of the Proms-shows in Germany. Stürmer is the last artist that was to be announced. NOTP.com announced that Stürmer will be part of the proms this morning:
“Having Christina Stürmer at the proms is a very special birthday present for us”, says Dirk Hohmeyer, says producer Dirk Hohmeyer. “She had many hits in the past and she has a great stage presence.”

Stürmer started her carrier in 2003 with participating in the Austrian casting show “Starmania”. She finished the show on 2nd place and released the song “Ich lebe” directly after the show. The song hit the Austrian charts and was No. 1 for nine weeks.
