From now on you can listen to the snippets from forthcoming “Night of the Proms 2009” live CD on Amazon.de – two Roxette songs are included – “Listen to your heart” (5:14) & “The look” (5:27).
Grand Pop Station – a new project from Staffan Öfwerman
Grand Pop Station is a new Swedish band with Staffan Öfwerman on the lead vocals (who used to be in the Roxette band between 1988–1993, appearing on Look Sharp, Join the Joyride tour and also on several other recordings. He did his final live performance with Roxette on MTV Unplugged.
This is Staffan’s new band with 4 other great musicians from Sweden playing their own music. Most of the songs are written by Staffan and the music is pop that the band hope will be loved by the most people.
The band just released their debut single, Daddys little boy as a digital download on iTunes in November 2009. The track ended up on Top 30 over the best selling songs on iTunes Store on the first day.
The band is right now in the studio working on more songs, which will be released in 2010 if people like their first single. There is also a brand new web site on it’s way and the first part of it is now open, but a lot of things are happening behind the scenes. Take a look and register yourself to the club (it’s free). Then you will have access to the complete web site when it is launched.

So here they move on German roads. “The Night of the Proms” tour turns its name into “The Nokia Night of the Proms” thanks to the main sponsor of this event in Germany. 20 more shows to go!

Will there be surprises on the part of Roxette? Will WICF stay in the first part of show? Will WICF stay in the show at all or will it be replaced with another song (as suggested of a NotP-forum)?
Which classical piece will be replaced by “Le Carnaval Romain”? as this piece is on the CD, but wasn’t played in Antwerp, Arnhem or Rotterdam. Will Swedish Rhapsody leave the playlist, taking WICF along (as suggested of a NotP-forum)?
Will a “new” Roxette-song enter the playlist? Church of your heart to replace WICF?Questions, questions, questions… to be answered next Friday in Hamburg!
[Rumours] Roxette in Poland on New Year’s Eve?
I have read about it in the Polish press almost a week ago, but I thought it was one of those stories which are not worth mentioning. But still – I have decided to post it here. After all only gods know what’s the truth.
The rumour has it that Roxette may perform as the main star on the New Year’s Eve public party organized by the authorities of Lodz, the third-largest city in Poland. The other propositions of so-called stars are: Ace of Bace or Sandra (!).
The whole concert will be broadcasted by TVP2, the second chanell of public television and watched, as always, by millions of Poles who stay at home on the New Year’s Eve. The budget for this even is about 700,000 euros.
Unfortunately, even if it’s true, I don’t think it will be live and we cannot expect more than 4-5 songs.
