There was an interesting parallel to draw with Marie and Madonna, two artists of the same age that were seen on the same stage at 24-hour intervals.

The setlist for tonights show was the same as Ottawa except for the song intro to Joyride. Tonight Christoffer played a famous guitar lick instead of a melody to song, unfortunately I recognized the lick but can’t tell you what song it was from!!! Hopefully someone else will know it. One thig I can tell you is that he also repeated this lick one more time during the last seconds of the song (which was cool).
We Canadians may be more laid back than other crowds but let me tell you LOVE was in the air tonight. Everyone sang in all the right places and you could tell that the band was really touched by the loud response and cheers. It’s impossible to describe… the whole night was very surreal for me. I was even crying from joy during the fast songs! One other moment that was notable was that Marie knocked her microphone stand over during 7twenty7 when she was doing one of her slow turns with her arms spread out. She noticed to late and held her hands to her ears and flinched from the noise. A stangehand quickly reset it for her.
Besides that one slip (and of course the usual moment or two of mixing up some lyrics) Marie truly was in TOP SHAPE tonight. Her facial expressions were especially animated…she was go good with the crowd. What more can I say? Oh…I was literally laughing out lous so hard for most of Joyride because people (including myself) kept getting hit in the head by the “wonderful balloons”.
