According to Dagbladet article, Sundsvall municipality will pay over 200,000 SEK for promotion of forthcoming summer festival on which Roxette will perform. Maria Åslin from Norrporten Arena says that this festival is perfect promotion of town and region. Money will be spent on advertisments in press, TV- and radiostations as well as on posters and billboards. Anders “Tjacka” Söderberg, one of the organizers, promises that it will be profitable event for Sundsvall municipality as the town and region will get a lot of publicity around Sweden and even around the world.
Additionally, local football team GIF Sundsvall has to reschedule its match from August 7th to August 9th, because of Roxette concert.
According to the German Night of the Proms fan website, Jonas Isacsson won’t be part of the Night of the Proms this year.
A Dutch guitarist called Rob Winter will take Jonas’ place in the Electric Band in 2010. Jonas, who didn’t hesitate to say he’d do the tour again this year, says:
He played with NOTP in Charleroi last weekend. Checked out what he did with Kim Wilde, sounded good.
Additionally, NOTP organizers revealed the first artist for this year’s tour two days ago: Boy George.

13 out 20 the most expensive houses in Sweden are located in Djurholm area in Stockholm. Number 5 on the list is Per Gessle with his 520 m2 villa in Halmstad. The house is worth over 24,000,000 SEK now. He bought this property in 1993 for 950,000 SEK, but he and his wife have done a lot of extensive and expensive renovations since then. Per Gessle is also the one of those who gain the most thanks to Property tax refrom from 2008. Swedish government reduced the property tax till only 0,75% of property’s value (not more than 6,000 SEK per year). Due to this fact Gessle does not have to pay over 123,000 SEK of property tax per year anymore.

9,000 out of 25,000 available tickets for Roxette show in Sundsvall were sold in just 3 days. Unfortunately, it seems that Anders “Tjacka” Söderberg did not ask about any kind of permission from local police to organize this concert in advance. He claims that he could not discuss the issue with the local representatives, because he did not want to have any leak to the press about the event.
Tomas Åslund, local police chef, says he hopes the right decision will be made shorty to secure audiance safety.

Ingrid Olivelöf was the first person who managed to purchase tickets for Roxette show on Norrporten Arena in Sundsvall on August 7th. She waited over an hour with more than 50 people in queue in front of Entré Sundsvall on Friday morning, April 23rd. Mattias Aamisepp from Radio Guld, local radiostation, played Roxette songs to improve people’s moods. Ingrid chose “Dressed for succes” as the best Roxette song in the talk with journalist. She bought three tickets in the second row in B-section.

So here it comes. Afer one year of preparations and waiting we have finally managed to end up our works on yet another bootleg from “Party crasher tour” – to be honest – one of the funniest Roxette fan experiances in the 21st century.
After more or less professional recordings from Prague, London, Amsterdam and Stockholm (with Marie) as well as live tracks on amazing double album “Gessle over Europe”, it’s time for Warsaw. Per Gessle and his band came to Poland to play just one concert in Stodola rock club in Warsaw on April 22nd. In fact Poland was the only country on the tour list where Roxette/Gessle have never played live before. Some sources say that there were around 1,000 people in the audiance, but on the other hand I was informed about 700 tickets sold. Who’s right, who’s wrong? Who really cares?
Back to the topic. It’s a bootleg and it’s a compilation. So the quality differs from song to song constantly. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s not so good, but that is how it works when you use five different recording sources. Give Slawek Sztul – he made it all possible (‘na na na’ on “The look” is his!
and Blanka ‘Blunek’ Pentela – she has designed all the covers for “Gessle over Poland” included in the set – a big hand. I cannot forget about Ela ‘Blue_girl’ Krysinska – thank you for your help and contribution. It was amazing to work with you guys!

According to Musikindustrin‘s journalist Lars Nylin Roxette will play in Germany in December. In the article about Sundsvall concert he mentions Russia and Germany as the exemples of forthcoming Roxette shows. Time will tell if it is true.
From The Daily Roxette:
Per says that he doesn’t know anything about any German gigs.
The sale will start today at 11.00 AM Swedish local time via Ticnet.se or through Webbiljett.se (the site is recommended by the organizers).

According to Swedish media, and confirmed to Roxette’s manager Marie Dimberg, Roxette will play in Norrporten Arena, Sundsvall (Sweden) on August 7. The organizators exepect around 20,000 in public. This will be, if no more shows are added to the tour, the real first Roxette concert since 2001.
Tickets will be on sale on April 23 via Ticnet. The support band will be German The Baseballs, known from their Elvis-covers of Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and… Roxette’s “The look”.
It seems like the information in Norwegian and Danish press about two gigs in Sweden are finally confirmed.

Watch 2-minutes report about the concert
Chrissi Schäfer and Eloy Mathesan contributed to the article.
As The Daily Roxette reports, the upcoming Roxette album got moved from end of this year to early 2011. The recordings go well, but they plan to have a summer break (where they’ll perform live around the Baltic sea) to resume recording until October. The actual plan is to record 16 songs with the first single to be released for Christmas 2010.
Comment: In my opinion that’s a good decision!
- The current EMI turmoil could lead to a quite insecure release/promotion situation this year. EMI was rumored to have postponed the next Coldplay album for example.
- The pre-christmas market is always very crowded with album releases. Nobody knows if Roxette’s name is still big enough to gather enough attention between such a huge competition. Roxette have a good history of winter/spring releases (all studio albums except (POP and LS).
- Judging from previous release interviews they always got fresh inspiration through a recording break.
I guess a first single already 2-3 months in advance of the album will keep us more excited than single/album released within 2 weeks…
