People behind the “Radio” and “Charm school” mastering

Cutting Room, which was the first to reveal the title of new Roxette single, published this piece of information today

Björn Engelmann mastered the single “She’s got nothing on (but the radio)” as well as the full album for CD, Mats ‘Limpan’ Lindfors is mastering the vinyl today. All are to be released with Roxette Recordings.

  1. Hmm, I don’t think it’s a hoax but their summary could be too generous. It looks like they did:
    – Single
    – Live album
    – Vinyl album

  2. I agree with the bonus live-cd and maybe even the vinyl but it wouldn’t make any sense to have the single (which is a regular album track) mastered by someone else than the other 11 tracks.

  3. If I understand the traditional meaning of mastering right, each disc has to be done on it’s own: mastering = preparing the mother copy.

  4. Yes, you’re also right. We just weren’t talking about the same thing here. What I meant talking about mastering is editing the sound itself with equalizers, compressors and so on – not the actual (physical) production of a “mother” copy.
