Roxette are back in the German singles Top 20 after 17 years!

The insider report by Roxette fan Gellner just got officially confirmed: Roxette’s new single “She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio) entered the official sales charts of Germany at #18! This is Roxette’s first Top 20 hit single since “Sleeping In My Car”, the lead single from “Crash! Boom! Bang!” in early 1994.

All singles after that failed to reach a Top 20 position, with “Wish I Could Fly” (#26) and “Stars” (#23) coming close in 1999. It’s clear that Roxette got more of an album band in these regions, with all studio albums since “Joyride” reaching a Top 3 position.

On the national radio charts the song climbed up to #20 after 22, 43 and 71 in Germany. In Austria it reached #27 after 52 and 44, while climbing from 63 to #49 in Switzerland.

The full sales charts with Roxette’s entry will be published on Friday. Source: Media Control

“She’s Got Nothing On” out in Spain and reaches #12 on iTunes

Roxette’s new single is out in Spain via iTunes since yesterday. Funny how, the single reached #12 in the iTunes charts and that without promotion, since the promotion on radios won’t start until this weekend. The highest position was reached in Sweden so far: #10.

You can see an overview of all iTunes charts on this website.

There are no confirmed dates for Spain yet, it will probably depend on the sales of the single and specially the album, but if it goes on like this, no promoter could ever say no!

We’ll keep you informed!

Update Jan 13: The single has reached #10 in Spain as well!

Marie pushes Roxette into prestigious Australian Radio Countdown!

We got this article from Steve from Australia. Thanks Steve!

Roxette, in particular Marie Fredriksson, has made the “Hummingbird 100“. The countdown is an all female list and is run in conjunction with Australian Music Channel “MusicMax”.

Four Roxette tracks made the list, “It Must Have Been Love”, “Listen To Your Heart”, “The Look” and “Joyride”. Pink, meanwhile, claims the most spots of any female artist with seven tracks inside the 100. Beyonce, Roxette and Madonna both have four and Blondie, Rihanna and Alanis Morissette have three apiece.

The poll results have been picked up by several Australian online news sites including Queensland’s “Courier Mail“.

Vote for Roxette as best band ever!

Posted on October 12:

Big German radio station WDR2 runs a poll to find the best band of all times. Wouldn’t it be fun to see Roxette high up there?

The poll ends November 5 and a big countdown will be broadcasted November 7 and 8. The website is in German but it’s easy: Just choose “Roxette” from the list, click “weiter”, type in the code, choose “Nein, …” and click “jetzt abstimmen”. Ready!

Additionally you can win 200 albums or a journey, tickets and a meeting for concerts with Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys or Nickelback. If you want, just choose “Ja, …” and fill in your data and click “jetzt abstimmen”.

On WDR2: Info page (in German) | The poll

PS. You can listen to WDR2 via livestream.

Update, November 8: Roxette made it to number 50!

Not bad, taking into acount how many new artists/bands appear on the hitlists every year. Keep in mind that this voting was heavily influenced by fan groups as the positions of some teengroups (Monrose, No Angels) show… ;)
