Berlin show sold out!

Roxette’s world tour concert in Berlin appears to be sold out at the biggest ticket vendor eventim.de. This could change again with additional contingents but indicates the nearing end of capacity. However, the promotion partner Spreeradio still has tickets on sale. So if you think about going there — don’t wait too long!

Update: A couple of hours later the other official ticket vendors like getgo.de and trinitymusic.de have sold out as well. Be cautious if you buy from unknown re-sellers! The normal price was between 59 and 62 €.

German “Stern” magazine video announces Roxette comeback

Respected German magazine Stern features a nice video report on it’s website! The introducing text:

After serious cancer disease: Roxette dare a comeback
The comeback of the Swedish band Roxette is a miracle: Eight years ago, Marie Fredriksson became ill from a brain tumor – the end of the successful duo. But the singer beat cancer and now returns with a new album.

“She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio)” reviews trickle in

As a reaction of the premature single release last friday the first music websites and blogs already posted initial reviews of Roxette’s new single. Here’s some excerpts:

The song sounds like classic Roxette with a modern twist. With an amazing sense of melody and the unique mix of Marie Fredriksson’s and Per Gessle’s voices, She’s Got Nothing On has the potential to be the biggest single from the duo since “Joyride”, their last Canadian number one hit in 1991.

Rockstar Weekly

As for us, well we just think it’s a good song really! … Retro guitars and huge drum beats are mixed up in a pop mould, and it gives the song a sugar coating that would make any pill easier to swallow. Melody wise, the chorus is very Roxette – soaring and anthemic.

Scandipop

… a return to form for the Swedish hit makers. The soaring vocal melodies are what one would expect to hear from a band that created some of the biggest hits of the 80s and 90s. If promoted properly, “She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio)” could be poised to garner the band a whole new audience of music fans.

From the Pop In Stereo article we already mentioned.

Too little Marie, the very echo of the past.
No, the first Roxette single in several years is not a grand comeback.

Expressen gives 2/5 bees, like in the good old times…

Hopefully the label also gives the pair another shot in the States, as well, with “She’s Got Nothing On”, because if Per Gessle’s composition proves only one thing, it’s that he’s still at the top of the game when it comes to Swede pop perfection. We think Roxette are still looking sharp. What say you?

Roxette’s official website got relaunched

Just in time for Roxette’s new single, album and tour, the official site www.roxette.se got relaunched. The website had been under the previous design concept for roughly five years. It shared the basic concept with all other official Per Gessle homepages and had been launched with Per’s “Sun Of A Plumber” album in late 2005 (as far as I remember). Now it appears to be a standalone website, the other homepages remain unchanged so far. Check out the new content and functions!

The site features new and improved pages for news, biography, discography, lyrics, gallery, newsletter, webshop (via bengans.se) and contact adresses, embeds Per’s latest Twitter messages and links to the merchandise store, Gessle/Roxette forum, Snowish, Twitter and Facebook pages. Note that it’s the Roxette Facebook page, not Per Gessle Official. So it looks like Roxette will control that (so far passive) page soon as well.
