New Roxette album postponed to 2011

As The Daily Roxette reports, the upcoming Roxette album got moved from end of this year to early 2011. The recordings go well, but they plan to have a summer break (where they’ll perform live around the Baltic sea) to resume recording until October. The actual plan is to record 16 songs with the first single to be released for Christmas 2010.

Comment: In my opinion that’s a good decision!
– The current EMI turmoil could lead to a quite insecure release/promotion situation this year. EMI was rumored to have postponed the next Coldplay album for example.
– The pre-christmas market is always very crowded with album releases. Nobody knows if Roxette’s name is still big enough to gather enough attention between such a huge competition. Roxette have a good history of winter/spring releases (all studio albums except (POP and LS).
– Judging from previous release interviews they always got fresh inspiration through a recording break.

I guess a first single already 2-3 months in advance of the album will keep us more excited than single/album released within 2 weeks… 😀

Rumours – Roxette in Brasil?

We all love rumours, don’t we? That is why I post this information which was written by Danyela Etchart from Brazil.

It was March 29th, a little bit far from April 1st, when Brazilian online newspaper blog, called “O Povo”, from Fortaleza/Ceara State, North of Brazil, posted very strange news that could only be entitles as “rumours”. The headlines were “Fortaleza receives Scorpions, Roxette might come

According to the site: (…) Siara Hall is dealing with the Swedish band Roxette, known by hits like “The Look”, “Listen To Your Heart”, “It Must Have Been Love” and “Joyride”. In time: The producer responsible for the Scorpions concert in Ceará (North of Brazil) has not officially confirmed, but other sources close to the event organizers said they have already agreed.

The question is: agreed with who? With Roxette?

Well, this is really strange because after the announcement of Roxette’s Scandinavian and Russian concerts, Roxette Attack Sudamerica Group contacted Live Nation in the name of 3 music producers to arrange around 6 or 7 Roxette concerts in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguai. Thomas Johansson from Live Nation (former EMA TESLAR) said there was no plans for South America this year. Dimberg also replied there would be only 5 Roxette concerts in 2010. But the doors won’t be closed to the South America, because if a world tour takes place after the new album release, South America will be probably part of it.

Alexandre, from Roxette Brazilteam posted this strange news on March 30th, according to Emmanuel Macêdo. Carlos Raphael, a fan from Fortaleza, checked this information with the Siara Hall, but they didn’t have any information about Roxette. The only concert confirmed was Scorpions on September 18th.

NOTP on German TV – part 2.

Tonight the second and the last part of “Night of the Proms 2009” special was broadcasted on Deluxe Music TV. Three Roxette songs made to the final programme – “The Look”, “Listen to your heart” (Marie mixed the first verse a little bit) as well as “Joyride”. We did not only get “It must have been love”, which became the only Roxette NOTP song that was not shown on any out three NOTP TV-specials.

The same id and interview with Per were shown as well as the very short comment from Marie about her feelings concerning that tour.
