Helena Josefsson tells about the duet “My Own Worst Enemy” recorded for the film “Hamilton”

As we reported yesterday, Helena Josefsson is featured in a duet called “My Own Worst Enemy” which was recorded for the Swedish film “Hamilton – in the interest of the nation”. Helena has told us a bit more about the song.

How come you are singing a duet for the film “Hamilton  in the interest of t he nation”?

I was singing my music at an internal EMI party and there someone discovered my voice. They were about to record this Hamilton-song, and asked me to try the female vocals. I went to their studio and it worked out great!

My part in the song, as I think of it,  is to illustrate Hamilton’s late girlfriend, singing to him from heaven.

And how was it with Robert Petersson, lead singer of Takida?

Then they tried a number of male singers and they fell for Robert’s voice. I really think his voice is perfect for the song!

We also read that a video was done for the song?

The video was shot a month ago and will be released on the 13/1. I’m excited to see it! The same day I was recording backing vox for the new Roxette-album. It was a very exciting day!

Will you be at the VIP premiere of the film?

Yes, me and Martinique will go to Stockholm for the premiere and there we will perform the song.

“Speak To Me” video premiere tomorrow

Per Gessle announced on the Roxette official facebook page that “Speak To Me” video will be premiered tomorrow noon in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. You’ll be able to watch the video on MyVideo EMI Channel.

The rest of the world will get an international link on Sunday. That is, if it doesn’t make it to YouTube before that, as Per says.

Premiere of documentary film featuring Helena Josefsson

Helena Josefsson (currently on tour with Roxette, backing vocals) is taking a break in the tour and won’t be in the next two concerts (Ukraine and Belarus). The reason for that is that she is attending the premiere of a documentary film about Dolly Parton she is in.

The documentary, directed by Jessica Nettelbladts, is called “Jag är min egen Dolly Parton”, which Helena co-starrs with Nina Persson, Cecilia Nordlund and Lotta Wenglén, as well as music producer Gudrun Hauksdottir. The film is about the friendship and dreams of these five women, about women being in the middle of a career and longing for cihldren. And, of course, about Dolly Parton as a role model.

The “VIP” film premiere took place yesterday in Stockholm. The official premiere is on March 11th in Folketsbio cinemas in Stockholm, Göteborg, Malmö and many other cities across Sweden.

Our reader Erik Johansson attended the premiere yesterday and comments “the film is in Swedish with no subtitles, so a lot of you will not understand that much, but there is really a lot of feelings going on.. and there were many times when tears came through”. He absolutely recommends the film.
