Roxette’s latest single “It’s Possible” reached #1 in the German radio station SWR3’s chart. This chart is done with the votes sent in by the radio listeners during the past week. Roxette entered the chart at #2 last week and has finally climbed to #1 this week.

Interview with Per Gessle on Swedish radio P4

Per Gessle was interviewed today in the Swedish Radio P4 show “P4 extra med Lotta Bromé”.

In the approximately 20 minute long interview Per explained about live on tour, about him being quite picky about certain things, playing with Barbies, “Travelling” and much more. You can listen to the interview – in Swedish of course – on SR’s website here.

Roxette Café has uploaded it on mp3. And Roxette.RO has done a short translation to English of the interview.

“It’s Possible” is record of the week at BBC Radio 2!

It was just per accident that we learned Roxette’s Travelling is “Record of the Week” on BBC Radio 2 in the UK. That means the single is getting special daily airplay. The website points to the single release on March 16. Let’s hope this promotion opportunity does more for the new single in the UK than it did for She’s Got Nothing On a year ago!

PS. Note that they misspelled the name to “It’s Impossible”. 😉

Update: Actually they write “Release date: 16 April”, not March. A physical UK release on the horizon?

Countdown to German radio prize gala with Roxette

As reported some time ago, Roxette will perform tonight at “Der Deutsche Radiopreis” gala in Hamburg, Germany. Marie & Per have landed in Germany and acts are having soundchecks right now.

What we still don’t know is if Roxette will perform playback, live, singback or whatever. Per said they “prepared” music for this event some days ago, whatever that means. German radio channel “NDR 2″– part of the organizers – told their listeners today, that Roxette will perform “She’s Got Nothing On” additionally to the announced “Speak To Me” stage premiere.

The show will start at 20:05 European Summer time and will be broadcasted live on 50 (!) German radio stations and via video stream on the official website www.deutscher-radiopreis.de. They started posting backstage videos already!

Roxette to perform at German Radio Prize gala

According to Bayerische Rundfunk, Roxette will be one of the artists to perform at the German Radio Prize gala on September 8th, in Hamburg.

The information can also be found on the “Der Deutsche Radiopreis” website so we can say it’s confirmed. According to this website, Roxette will perform “live”. Marie reveals that they will play “Speak To Me” for the first time on stage.

As far as I could find out, it seems to be a “private” gala for invited guests only (media?), at least last year there were only 700 guests.

According to the report from last year’s gala, it was broadcasted by 26 radio stations at the same time (including web radios) and there was even a live video stream via internet. The show was then broadcasted on NDR TV (not live). Let’s hope this year the media coverage is going to be the same!

Update Aug 24 – some hours later:

Good news for all of us! I was just told that the gala will be broadcasted by

– 42 radio stations
– via internet on www.deutscher-radiopreis.de
– TV (after the gala, not live)

More information and details will be available within the next days.
