Marie Fredriksson chats with fans: “Successful because of my fans”

In a 20 minutes chat on Aftonbladet Marie Fredriksson answered some questions today.

Most of the fans asked about her tour which starts in February. Rosa from Barcelona wanted to know if we can expect any surprises on the tour, but Marie didn’t reveal anything and said: “If I told you know, it wouldn’t be a surprise.”Luiz Gimenez asked how Marie feels about the fact that a lot of fans will come from Brazil to Sweden to see her shows. Marie replied she is also looking forward to the tour and seeing the fans again. A Russian fan wanted to know how many new songs Marie will play at her shows and Marie let us know that she plans to play at least two new songs. RXB admin Judith asked if they are already rehearsing and have prepared a setlist for the 2tour, but so far they are only thinking of several songs and haven’t started rehearsing yet.

RXB team member Patrícia asked about a rumour we have heard several times now – that Marie is working on a biography, but it seems it’s too early to tell about it since Marie couldn’t or didn’t want to say anything about a possible release date of this book. Later on, Evgeny Perekopskiy asked about a dream she has and which dream she wants to come true: “Maybe to release a book about my life in the future.”

Being asked about her favourite song on “Nu!”, Marie replied that it’s “Vad vore jag utan dig” (see our interview with Mikael Bolyos) which “means so much to me”. The main difference between “Nu!” and her previous albums? Easy question for Marie: “I have only written one song.”

Julia from St. Petersburg asked about Marie’s other passion – painting – and if she is planning another exhibition. But it is of course obvious that Marie is busy with other stuff: “I’d love to have another exhibition when I have the time.”

A user called Mia wanted to know about artists Marie likes or give her inspiration – Marie says it’s Rufus Wainwright and Veronica Maggio. Funniest answer: “My friend Pär.” Guess the question.. “Do you still have any connections with Halmstad?”

And the most touching answer comes with Miedy’s question “You always look so happy and in a good mood when you meet your fans. What’s your secret?” – I know that my success is because of you.

Miedy also asked about possible Roxette recordings, but Marie seems not to be involved so far as says: “Nothing new with Roxette, so far.”

“Sista sommarens vals” video premiere and chat with Marie tomorrow!

mf1-560x315Tomorrow at around lunch time the video to “Sista sommarens vals”, the second single off “Nu!” will have its premiere on Aftonbladet.  The video is directed by Emil Jonsvik and was partly recorded in Stockholm Hotel Diplomat.

“It is important for me to create a feeling on the set that makes the artist, cast and the team feel calm,” says director in a press release. “For me, the song is a celebration of life where both ups and downs will make you stronger as a person,” Emil Jonsvik goes on, “I wanted to create a cinematic black and white video with a strong sense of drama.

Emil also explains it was “very fun and challenging to work together with Marie, we created the magic that goes straight to the camera,” says a similing Emil.

But that’s not all the fun! You will have the chance to chat with Marie tomorrow at 14:00 on Aftonbladet.

And last but not least, a short film showing Marie and Micke talking about the song will also be available on the newspaper’s website tomorrow.

Gyllene Tider’s Man blir yr video premiere and chat with Per Gessle

Gyllene Tider’s video for their first single off Dags att tänka på refrängen album, ”Man blir yr” premiered on Aftonbaldet TV today. When Per posted ”Video is coming soon!” on Gyllene Tider’s facebook page on 1st April, most of us thought it was just an April Fool’s Day post. Now the video is really here. Most scenes in the clip are from TV4’s Fråga Gyllene Tider show or at least from the same day, shot in the rehearsal studio. There are many old Gyllene Tider pictures appearing, too. The ending is too cool with Per throwing a plec. Watch it yourself!

Fans also had a chance to chat with Mr. Gessle on Aftonbladet at 12:30 CET today. The chat lasted for about 35 minutes.

From the chat we get to know that the girl in Man blir yr video is called Filippa. The guy who drew the awesome Gyllene Tider cartoon characters is called Paco. Ullevi was his best concert with Gyllene Tider and it’s still not out of the game this year. There most probably won’t be any more Gyllene Tider signing sessions than the 3 already announced ones. Mr. Gessle promises there will be some unexpected songs on tour. There is a plan to record the tour on DVD.

Per sings much much worse after drinking 4-5 beers, so he never drinks alcohol before a gig. He’s losing focus and it fits his personality very badly. Mr. G is not listening to Justin Bieber (surprise, surprise…).  If he could have a dinner with three other musicians, dead or alive, he would choose John Lennon, Syd Barrett and Mama Cass. To the question regarding what he’s most proud of in his career he replied:

I am proud that I still have a wonderful relationship with the audience. It’s the audience around the world that made all this possible.

He says he has never been angry with anyone in the audience while he was on stage:

Our audience is generally VERY positive and active and you never want to stop playing for them!

Regarding his actual hairdo (the hairdo, the hairdo!!! read it carefully! 🙂 ) he says:

I like my hair right now because I can shake it so cool when I play a ruthless G major on Rickenbacker!

The last question  – coming from Felix – was when he is resting. Per’s reaction:

Felix, you sound like my wife!!!!!! I’ve been floating in my life and get to work with what I love. I’ll rest later.

Chat with Per Gessle on Aftonbladet

Per Gessle chatted with the readers of Aftonbladet.se yesterday afternoon. Here is the link to the full chat transcript.

And here some of the questions and answers summarized and translated into English (or not, since some were placed and answered in English):

Chefi: Any concerts in Sweden this year?

Per: No, they already played in Göteborg, Stockholm and Malmö last year, so time to take a little break. Nearest place: Copenhagen. (Except for the Orifame corporate show).

Aaryn: When are the USA tour dates being announced?

Per: Hi Aaryn. This month we hope. Some logistics have to be sorted out first, that’s it!

Mike: Chance to see Gyllene Tider on tour again?

Per: Sure! Just have to find the right time.

Beatriz: Per, I’ve been fan since I was a kid..I was in your last concerts (Madrid and Barcelona) in Spain, how does it feel to see that crowd screaming and jumping even without any kind of promotion? Cheers! Beatriz

Per: Hi Beatriz. We have the greatest fans on the planet! Without you guys this tour wouldn’t have been possible. Cheers!

Frida: Do you recognise the fans who go to many of your concerts?

Per: sure! Many belong to the “family”, some also come to different continents with us. It’s great to have them around.
