Roxette radio docu on NYE

If you need something to cheer you up before this year’s New Year’s Eve party, the radio documentary about ”Look Sharp!” – the album, which is still their best as Per says – will be probably your thing. As you could already read it in our earlier articles, Tara Moshizi and Tove Meyer did interviews with Marie, Per, Clarence and Anders during the past months and they were talking about the album on the occasion of its 25th anniversary.

Save the date in your calendar!

Sveriges Radio P4: 31st December, 12:03 pm CET
Sveriges Radio P1: 31st December, 16:03 pm CET; 3rd January 18:15 pm CET

Tara and Tove have appr. 6 hours of raw material, but they cut it to a 50-minute-long documentary. Good news is that they will share some more of the raw material (i.e. the interviews or parts of them) online after the docu has been broadcasted. Stay tuned!

Brainpool single premiere

Brainpool is B-A-C-K! Their new single, “The Last Christmas premiered today on Gaffa.se, made available on SoundCloud by Brainpool’s record label, Adrian Recordings. Single is out digitally on 27th November.

The single has a cute and at the same time interesting cover with this kitten and the golden grenade Christmas ornament she is playing with. The track itself is a real modern Xmas song including all the bells & chimes & some other strange sounds that help you to get into the mood, but still keeping the Brainpool sound through the whole song.

Not that I don’t like Wham!’s “Last Christmas”, but I’d be happy if this year all the radio stations would change at least half of the planned Wham! “Last Christmas” airplays to Brainpool’s “The Last Christmas”.

Just keep on doing what you do, guys!

THE LAST CHRISTMAS

© Brainpool

A five minute break in the midst of preparation
A cigarette to calm your precious nerves
Was it a sound? A reflection in the window?
The sudden presence of another world

But in the deserts of Iran – And in the mountains of Afghanistan
Everybody’s happy, everything is fine
Just keep on doing what you do – There’ll be no shadow hanging over you
There’s no need to worry, oh no – at least not tonight

Your memory drifts to the firm interrogation
With no United Nations by your side
But daddy is rich and your mother is good looking
So hush now little baby, don’t you cry

Cause in the deserts of Iran – And in the mountains of Afghanistan
Everybody’s happy, everything is fine
Just keep on doing what you do – There’ll be no shadow hanging over you
There’s no need to worry, oh no – at least not tonight

Aaaa…

Just keep on doing what you do – no acid rain is gonna pour on you
There’s no need to worry – at least not tonight

And in the deserts of Iran – And in the mountains of Afghanistan
Everybody’s happy, everything’s alright
Just keep on doing what you do – There’ll be no missiles crashing down on you
There’s no need to worry, oh no – at least not tonight

No cause for alarm, they won’t do you no harm
Everybody’s smiling, everything is fine
And in the ghettos of Sudan – and council houses in Birmingham
There won’t be no trouble, oh no – at least not tonight

Update 2nd December: Aftonbladet shared the video to this song. Not a usual Xmas video. 🙂 Click HERE for watching!

Marie Fredriksson’s awesome performance in Skavlan

Marie and her husband, Mikael Bolyos appeared in today’s Skavlan show. They performed ”Sista sommarens vals”, the only song Marie wrote for her new album, ”Nu!”. It was a live performance and left everyone breathless not only in the audience, but also in front of TV and computer. It was so touching! Top class piano playing by Micke and what an amazing voice of Marie! She started the song a bit insecure, she looked so fragile, but after warming up in some seconds her voice opened up and she was singing incredibly good! She’s an angel! And watch her facial expressions! Aaaw!

We hoped for some talking, but unfortunately, there was no interview with Marie, ”only” this awesome performance. You can watch it by clicking HERE or at the pic. It starts at 52:29. It is worth watching it at the link of the complete show, because it’s a bit longer and has a much nicer ending than the clip you can see on SVT’s website.

Brainpool – JUNK Development Workshop

As you all know, as both Per and us informed you about it, Brainpool (Christoffer Lundquist, David Birde, Jens Jansson) visited New York last week and were working some more on the JUNK rock opera (directed by Shakina Nayfack) that started its journey some years ago. They took part in a development workshop now. Here is a video shared by ”Junk A Rock Opera” channel on YouTube. Chris is starring with his guitar!

Gyllene Tider book in Top5!

GT_omslag_131028_rs

The book has just been published and according to Bokus best sellers charts, ”Alla tiders Gyllene Tider” is already the Top 5th best selling book in “culture” category looking at the past week. Taking into consideration that most of us from abroad ordered it at Ginza or Bengans, the book could be No. 1 at Bokus (if we would have ordered our copies there). 😉

Cool result! Congrats!
