7,000 fans attended the show in Halle. 9,500 is the max. capacity for concerts. Many people came in late, after the support act. During the gig the hall seemed to be full and cooking, though! No Watercolours in the rain – unfortunately.

Christoffer introduced Joyride with the fun traditional “Eisgekühlter Bommerlunder”. Great choice, I would have been clueless what to play! He speeded it up after a very short time though, so that many people were too slow to recognize.

Jonas Isacsson responds to Roxette fans

Since Roxette’s longterm guitar player Jonas Isacsson didn’t participate on the latest album “Charm School” and the current World Tour, many fans wondered why they stopped to work together and wished him to reappear on new projects like the “Tourism 2” (working title) album. Jonas now responded to fans on Facebook in sort of an open letter:

Dear friends!
I’m honored and happy that you enjoy my
guitarplaying so much.
But let Roxette do their new stuff as they want.
It took some time for me to get rid of the ghost and
… grasp that I don’t work with them anymore.
I was sad but now I’m getting over it.
The old records are still there for all to hear and I’m
proud of my work. But that was then!
This is now and Rox are doing fine without me.
And I’m doing fine without them.
Let us carry on just like that.

Take care!
Jonas Isacsson

His last appearance with Roxette was the “Night Of The Proms” tour 2009 and the performance for Princess Victoria’s wedding in June 2010.

Good luck with your new projects, Jonas!

Thanks to Roland for the Info!

Update: Roxette comment this article via Facebook:

We all love Jonas dearly + are sure we’ll work together again.

5,800 people in the audience, that makes the Olympiahalle half full/empty. Reviewers wonder why. The quite late announcement after the Audi gigs this summer in Bavaria could be a reason. In the official German tour announcement Munich wasn’t listed yet.

Roxette’s new stage in progress

The “damp” blog by Lucas Lindholm offers some interesting insight to the preparation of Roxette’s new stage equipment for the upcoming European leg of the Charm School World Tour. The more-or-less locally rented stages of the previous tour legs seem to get replaced by more dedicated touring equipment. Per hinted at stage upgrades in an interview early August:

The successes of the first half of the tour means that Roxette will be travelling with a larger stage and more equipment. We need to improve it a bit for the autumn tour.

The photo galleries so far picture the work on September 26, 27 and probably 28. So who’s able to describe the visible technical upgrades, any experts out there?

Coldplay single “Paradise” inspired by “Wish I Could Fly”?

Belgian newspaper “Het Nieuwsblad” reports about a striking similarity between the backing tracks (not the vocal melody) of Coldplay’s new single “Paradise” and Roxette’s hit “Wish I Could Fly” from 1999. Coldplay have been in the focus of plagiarism claims before with previous singles, so the author asks if Chris Martin & Co. have asked Marie & Per in advance for this kind of “inspiration”. Judge for yourself:
