“Night of the Proms” Poland 2011

This became official few weeks ago that “The Night of the Proms” is going to be showed for the very first time in Poland in February 2011. On the Facebook page of this event there is a survey in which you can win 2 free tickets for the Polish show as well as vote for the most interesting artist/group which should play in Arena Lodz (ca 15,000 spectators) in Lodz, the third largest city in Poland. There will be only one concert in Poland and no artist is confirmed at this point.

According to the latest informations, Roxette is winning in the “international artists” category. I do not know if it makes Roxette’s appearance in Lodz more possible, but it is cool to know that Poles have a good taste in pop music 🙂

RMF FM, the largest radio station in Poland, is the media partner for this event. The same radio was promotiong Per Gessle’s “Party crasher” gig in Warsaw this year.

P.S. I was also informed that there will be no foreign artists on New Year’s Party in Lodz. So the rumours remain rumours.

So you think you can dance?

The So You Think You Can Dance Season 6 Top 10 dancers found their magic on December 2nd. Jakob Karr, Ellenore Scott, Noelle Marsh made a great showing along with, Kathryn McCormick, B-boy Legacy Perez, krumper Russell Ferguson and Mollee Gray.

Many fans were waiting to see how Mollee Gray and Nathan Trasoras would fair after a rocky few weeks. Mollee’s new partnership with Russell Ferguson proved to be golden. They conquered Mandy Moore’s lyrical jazz to “It Must Have Been Love” by Roxette. This beautifully choreographed piece showcased Mollee’s graceful lines and technical skills. She showed more maturity while Russell continued to impress with his quick study abilities and emotion filled dancing.

“This is the perfect book for any toilet in the world”

Jan Gradvall* and Björn Nordström, two authors of “Tusen svenska klassiker” (Thousand Swedish classics) – a new bible for all those who love Sweden and are interested in its music, were interviewed lately by Sven Lindström and Per Gessle on “Nordic Rox” at American Sirius Satellite Radio.

Norstedts, the publishing company, got the rights to publish this interview on its website and now you have a chance to listen to 7-minutes programme. And yes, the news title was taken from Per Gessle’s opinion 🙂

* Yep, he was the guy behind the liner notes in RoxBox as well as the author of forthcoming book on another Swedish band – kent.
