“Charm School” snippets out there!

Who would have thought the Frenchmen take a role in Roxette’s career again? Yes, it looks like a French music store is the first to offer 30 second clips of Roxette’s new album “Charm School”, to be released February 11 or 14 (depending on country).

If you can’t resist the temptation – here’s the link: qobuz.com – Just click “ECOUTER 30s”!

Update: It looks like somebody did a mistake – AGAIN. The snippets are gone from the website. No, we won’t link to any copies of them.

Update January 24: The album is listed for pre-ordering at iTunes – incl. slightly different snippets. Click here!

Update January 25: JPC.de listed the album as well, including different snippets. Thanks Volker!

  1. What would life be without Marie… she sounds like an angel. “Did you ever catch the sunset, right across the ocean?” I am melting….

  2. I couldn’t resist and heard 3 songs (WO, NOMIOHO, BBC). All I can say: WOW!!! 😀 Very hard to sleep now, 2 a.m. at night…

  3. I couldn’t resist either. I was supposed to cook, and how could I eat now? 😉 I am glad I listen to it though, it seemed the whole album is gonna be great. I know it’s only a snippet, but I can tell that the rest of the album is stronger than their first single (not a surprise here, because it’s always like that, except for Sleeping In My Car and The Look). However, I don’t what to think yet about Big Black Cadillac and Way Out, need to hear more.

  4. “Big Black Cadillac” has the most charting potential in regards to current top40 pop music. The rest is more subdued than i expected but sounds AMAZING. Different vibe from other Rox albums and no obvious duds…i’m super excited!!!! I’ll be listening for the next couple of weeks 🙂

  5. Big Black Cadillac makes me think of Lady Gaga lol. So, maybe it DOES have the most charting potential 😉

Again, I better wait until I hear the whole song 😉 Maybe I’d change my mind 🙂

  6. Regarding these 30 sec snippets I definitely fell in love with “Only when I dream”. I’m not warm yet with WO & SOTOTW, the two single aspirants according to Kobalt.
The live recordings are amazing BTW.

  7. Oh sounds exciting… I like what I hear from those 30 second snippets…

Loving ‘No One Makes it on Her Own’ and ‘Big Black Cadillac’ although they all sound fantastic!

The live album sounds amazing as well, people who buy this double album will just want to see Roxette live!

    Roll on the release date…

  8. Oh!Wow! It’s fantastic.Classic Roxette actual.
The sound and voices are AMAZING!
    Live sound perfect!.
No One Makes It On Her Own power-ballad,Only When I Dream,I’m Glad You Called ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh!
In My Own Way sounds like ballad Crash!Boom!Bang! (in the guitars, stay tuned).
Sitting On Top Of The World is very Roxette, nice.
    Kisses from Spain.Thanks

  9. Oh no bad French !!!! 🙂 No I am trying very hard not to give in to temptation. I am selfish and want to whole 2 CD”s!!!!!!
(but guys thanks for the positive feedback, makes me smile 🙂

  10. When i first heard the snippets (yes neither could i resist) i wasnt to optimistic to be honest…but today i cant stop listening – Way out sounds pretty interesting, not exactly classic roxette to me but it is catchy, Black Cadillac is very electric – updated roxette with a nice twist of whats in the charts today, clever arrangement. Do i really need to mention all the great ballads here? Marie sounds great, her singing is full of emotion. i LOVE the sound of the live tracks, well done – Welcome BACK Roxette.

  11. Looks like I got in just before they removed the clips… I still have them playing… lol

Way Out sounds interesting, I like Big Black Cadillac and for me I think Speak to Me is so far my favorite.

  12. [Link Removed]

There is a reason the songs have been removed from the French site so please respect our wishes and do not post links, thank you.

  13. Non-Roxette-ish
    Country
    Folk
    60’s

Nice. Can’t understand why they picked SGNOBTR as a single though. There are better songs on the album.

  14. Snippets 🙂

Please don’t post download links. Listening on a music store, fine, they had the album I suppose. Making copies for download – not OK for us. Thanks

  15. HOLY FRICKING MOLY – this album sounds bloody sweet! I agree with Clarence, sounds the best album since Joyride, and that’s saying something!!!! Yeeeeehar!

Thanks Per and Marie you have made my year – and it’s only January!

    x

  16. I only listened to “I’m glad you called” since we already kind of have it. I really liked what I heard. I’m accually glad they removed the snippets before I couldn’t resist to listen to the rest.

  17. I really didn’t know what to expect, but am so pleased on hearing the snippets. Roxette still sound like magic. If I get that feeling from only 30secs of each song…can’t wait for the full magical experience of listening to the album in full.

Marie sounds as good as ever. Per has also not lost his song writing touch. Brilliant…. I think this may replace Look Sharp as my favourite Roxette album.

  18. LOL sounds strange but it seems that I’m the only one who is not interested in listening these album snippets. It is a sort of ritual, I have bought every roxette cd album at the same music store, then I go home and listen directly from the cd.

  19. It sounds really great, judging by the snippets! It’s just like I hoped and wanted it to be..! Great songs written by Per, he didn’t lose his ability to write songs fitting Roxette, and Marie’s voice is so strong and magic!
Bye the way, he didn’t lie in his interview here some weeks ago, saying: “Marie is singing the last track on the album featuring these lines of pure honesty: “-God, I know it’s final – I decided to release my love on vinyl”….” 😉
