Roxette’s official videos disappearing again?

Almost a year ago there was an issue with Roxette’s official videos disappearing for a while from YouTube. Only 6 big hits were kept online that time. It was a consequence of the EMI – Warner Music merge and back then it seemed no one was really prepared for the fact that emimusic channel on YouTube might not work after EMI is not existing anymore. The issue got solved in about 2 months and the missing videos were set back on YouTube at the same channel.

Roxette_videos_emimusic_YTNow it happened again. Some official videos, e.g. Listen To Your Heart, It Must Have Been Love, Joyride, Dangerous are set to private on emimusic channel. The last time Per shared IMHBL (March 4th) and LTYH (5th March) on Roxette’s Facebook page, the videos were still available. Will they be back with their millionaire view counts?

Other artists are facing the same issue, so it’s again not something uniquely related to Roxette, but still it’s quite annoying.

In the meantime, Warner Music Sweden is uploading many videos from the past. As per what we, Roxers are mostly interested in among them are mainly Marie Fredriksson videos, as well as a few Per Gessle vids. It’s lovely to see all those gems, but also funny to see Marie’s Tro got a new, interesting title from Warner, Sweetwater. Whatever it is and wherever it is coming from. 😉 They will surely correct it soon.

Roxette’s VEVO channel is still existing and many videos are still available at emimusic channel, but it would be great to get back all the other videos, too. Fingers crossed for it being solved this time for a longer period (forever maybe?) than just for another year.

Update on 21st March: When Roxette’s official YouTube channel was announced yesterday, the official videos were set back to public. Yay!

Per Gessle in the Autoropa Racing Days video

You might remember Per sharing pictures of himself at a Racing Day at Ring Knutstorp, Sweden last September (pic 1, pic 2). Mr G mentioned back then:

Racing yesterday at Ring Knutstorp. Well, I actually didn’t race. Just a few laps on the track. I’m a coward.

So, the car was driven by someone else on the track and we were also joking a lot about him wearing that helmet or not in the end. I bet many would have been happy to be there and check Per’s LALALA LaFerrari from the inside. It seems some were lucky enough to sit in it for a little time.

Besides providing the visitors with the possibility to see tons of posh cars, there was a charity race for Childhood Cancer Foundation and 300000 SEK was collected for them. On a side note, Hugh Grant was also present and he was racing.

6 months after the event, Autoropa, the organizer of the racing days shared a short VIDEO summary of what happened at Ring Knutstorp that September day. They talked to Per, so he also appears in the video. Check him at 0:36 and 4:40. As you can see, the mystery is solved. Mr G did wear that helmet, even if it was maybe only for some seconds or minutes. Per says in the video that Åsa (who was btw driving the LaFerrari to and from Ring Knutstorp) drives a little faster on the roads than Per. Who would have thought? 😉

Roxette XXX Tour – Hunter Valley, Australia – February 28 – #25

After last night’s ultrasensational gig in Sydney, everyone was wondering what the band prepared for today’s sold out concert. Well, Roxette never disappoint, so the crowd at Bimbadgen Winery in Hunter Valley got a fabulous show tonight.

It was A Day On The Green gig just like the one in Yarra Valley a week ago and so the people walking around the location could see those beauty signs with all the Rox lyrics on them. The concert started again in the sunset, but it soon got dark, so the brilliant stage lighting could be enjoyed much more.

There was a huge crowd and they all got the Saturday night fever already at the beginning of the gig, so they were on their feet to show how they can dance to those magic vibes. While in Yarra Valley the security team first tried to make people sit down, here, in Hunter Valley even the security guys and event staff joined the party and were dancing during The Look. One must love it!

The band didn’t show any signs of missing a day off between 2 concerts. They were putting all their energy into making this last Aussie gig an unforgettable one. And they succeeded. I’m sure even the kangaroos in the vineyard had one hell of a party.

Per’s touching comment after the concert:

A DAY ON THE GREEN in Bimbadgen. Oh Yeah! Couldn’t imagine a better finale to the NZ/OZ XXX Tour!!!! We love it here!!

Thanx everyone for taking care of us, being so kind and showing true affection for this little band from the south of Sweden. We will never forget the singalong heroes and crazy but irresistable dancing aficionados that have rocked our world for a couple of weeks.

This tour will live on. We truly hope we can come back to play for you again. No promises, this band moves in mysterious ways. But we’d love to come back, you know that!!

Now it’s back to Europe for us, the studio is waiting. And Pelle’s personal trainer. And Magnus has to find a barber. And the European XXX-tour is that not far away. See y’all in the summer starting in May! Love from P&M&C&C&M&P&D

Now comes a bit more than 2 months break and the next gig, the first one of the next tour leg is on 10th May in Milan, Italy! Promising start with a sold out show! Europe is looking very much forward to having Roxette back! Don’t forget that in April we get a new Roxette single off a new Roxette album that is planned to be released at the end of October, so the tour break won’t be so boring. Woohoo!

Roxette XXX Tour – Sydney, Australia (Qantas Credit Union Arena) – February 27 – #24

When was the last time we wrote the actual gig was the best so far? Couldn’t have been too long ago, but this cliché has to be used again. After the Sydney Opera House gig, which was already a highlight during this leg of the tour, Roxette was able to provide thousands of people in the same city with an out-of-the-world experience tonight at Qantas Credit Union Arena. And you know they really did when die hard Roxers compare the concert to top South American ones and also when your Aussie Roxer friend calls you in Europe on your mobile just to let you know the gig was un-focken-believably awesome. Then you just feel you s.h.o.u.l.d.h.a.v.e.b.e.e.n.t.h.e.r.e.

Was it the effect of attending a fantastic Foo Fighters show yesterday (Per & Co., many Roxers and even more Sydney people attended that gig) or just being in a hyperactive mood today? Doesn’t really matter. The band was absolutely on fire! Marie rocked big time, acting a lot with the audience, being so powerful and her voice was in top top top shape. The crowd could see a hot hot hot Per who was bouncing around more than ever, jumping a lot in his own choreography, conducting all sing-along parts energetically. Mister Magnus showed he is a much better dancer than Michael Flatley and Christoffer’s Waltzing Matilda drove the whole arena crazy. Dea put all her energy into animating the crowd and her backing vocals sounded marvellous. Pelle was hitting the drums harder than usual and Clarence did magic on the keyboards. All roxtars on stage!

What about the crowd? They were the loudest, most clapping-jumping-dancing party people on this leg of the tour, constantly proving proudly they knew all the lyrics by heart. This was definitely a very important factor that made the band so damn good tonight. So much adrenaline and goosebumps all around!

The setlist got its 18-track length back and with The Look at the end, having a high pulse, it was the hardest thing to say goodbye to Roxette and leave the arena.

Per’s comment after the show:

SYDNEY #2 UPDATE: Wow wow wow! Whatasplendidevening!
We had a blast and it felt and looked like you did too!!! Overwhelming appreciation is what I feel right now. Wonderful farewell show in Sydney! LOVE TO COME BACK! ANYDAY!!! Newcastle tomorrow!! Then it’s bye-bye! /P.

Can Roxette do an at least as magical concert tomorrow as they did today? Next gig is on Saturday (28th February) at Bimbadgen Winery, Hunter Valley (A Day on the Green). That’s gonna be the last one in Oz. For a while.
