The first video of Roxette’s performance at the New Wave Festival in Jurmala is online. The quality is rather poor but still good enough to tell that both Marie and Per obviously had some fun together! When Marie arrived in Riga she told the TV crews that she wants to “have fun”. You can see that HERE, fast forward to minute 27. According to several websites they played four songs – Listen to your heart, It must have been love, The Look and Joyride and it seems that at least Joyride was either live or recently new recorded as it sounded different to the album version from 1991.
Three TV-stations are going to broadcast the opening night of New Wave Festival from Jurmala in Latvia.

The Daily Roxette got hold of Per just before leaving for Latvia and the New Wave festival where Roxette will perform “for real” for the first time in 8 years tomorrow. Per says they are bringing C&C – Christoffer and Clarence on bass and keyboards respectively, Pelle Alsing on drums and Jonas Isacsson on guitar. Per has super-charged his Gretsch this time.
It seems Roxette will play the same five songs as on the Night of the Proms; “Wish I Could Fly,” “The Look,” “Joyride,” “It Must Have Been Love” and “Listen to Your Heart.”

It can sound a little bit of silly (really?) in these days, but it’s worth a try at least. Danyela Etchart from Brazil sent us her blog entry. Read it, think over it and pass on.
What is ROXETTE ATTACK 2009 SUDAMERICA?
A project created by Roxette Fans in South America (“Sudamerica” in Spanish).
1. Bring back Roxette to the media;
2. Make contacts between business companies and Live Nation to bring back Roxette to do concerts in South America.
Roxette Brazil created a petition to bring Per and his band to Brazil during the Party Crasher Tour. Many signatures after and some words from Per & his band, the things have slowed down here in Brazil and Bianca & Alexandre contacted me to shake it a little bit!
As I had to travel to Uruguay, I took this opportunity nox to meet Rosina (a “crazy fan” just like me that since EHM Tour has been travelling to Europe!). We contacted Ezequiel from Argentina and still looking for someone to represent Chile.

Posted on June 28th: German rockabilly band The Baseballs included a cover of “The Look” in their first album “Strike”, which was released in May 2009. The album also includes covers of Rihanna, Robbie Williams and Maroon 5 among others.
Digger, singer together with Sam and Basti, explains why they choose “The Look” in an interview published on Münstersche Zeitung yesterday, “we wanted to give the album a personal touch. I chose “The Look”, which I relate to my start with music. It was my sister’s first LP and the first song I could play on keyboards.”
I personally find the version of “The Look” one of the best on the album, but you can judge yourself on YouTube, where you can also listen to other songs included in the album.
