Per and Micke did an exclusive 11-minute interview for the Swedish public radio last Friday. They talked about how they come to work together and recording of the new album. Per revealed that Gyllene Tider has discussed a comeback from 2008, but there was always something that stopped them from doing this. On the new album they will try to repeat “the classic GT sound” so to speak, with a lot of Farfisa organs in the background. Per is not sure when the album goes out, but he hopes it would be April. The first single is not really ready yet and they haven’t chosen it yet, but there will be in fact a tune called “Singel”. They plan to include two ballads on the album max, according to Per. Speaking of double meaning of the title, Per also mentioned that they have recorded a song called “Dags att tänka på refrängen” as well.

#gtsommar New Gyllene Tider album to be released in April
In the today’s newsletter sent out by the Swedish online shop Bengans.se it was annoucned for the very first time that the new Gyllene Tider album “Dags att tänka på refrängen” will be released on Wednesday, the 17th of April. The CD version will cost SEK 149 and the LP edition – SEK 199. The published album cover is not the final one.

Yesterday Micke Syd revealed in the Expressen interview that one of new tracks on the new Gyllene Tider album will be called “Anders och Mickes första band” (Anders and Micke’s first band) and confirmed that GT were presented 14 demos by Per Gessle and 12 songs will make the album. The first meeting of all band members took place in November 2012 in Christoffer’s studio in Scania where Per presented his 14 new demos.

As we already informed you, release date of the DVD is 19th February. Soundtrack: out “very soon” 😉 – still no info about an exact date.
If you had one wish, what would you change in the “It all begins…” documentary?
We were able to talk about positive sides of the “It all begins where it ends” documentary. As there is no real negative ones :-), we have decided to put the question differently – is there anything you miss in the show? If you had one wish, what would you change in the documentary? More interviews from band members, more soundcheck shots. Are there any tour mysteries that still remain unfold? If I have to state something I miss, it is at least some words from Helena and Dea, as they also had a very important role in this miraculous tour. As Per said, hopefully there will be more of them, too on the DVD. Crew worked hard during the whole tour, so it would be great to see more of their work, too. Some more scenes with how the guitars are prepared for the show or how the lights are up and the stage is built. I mean not showing these for long minutes, but a bit more. One more thing has just come into my mind: there are many Mikael B. parts, which I like a lot and it is totally understandable why he appears in the docu. What about Åsa? Will she appear and talk in the DVD version?

I miss a few words from Helena or Dea, don’t know why they were not interviewed at all. Or from people who collaborated with Roxette in the past (Isacsson, Benckert, Suurna, Corbijn, Åkerlund, Kjell Andersson) talking about their experience and memories. Something more focused in the group and less in the fans. Fans stories are ok, but they tend to repeat the same words again and again.

Åsa..yes..where was she? And a short clip how all these logistics are working would have been nice as well. I think on the Mazarin DVD there was a fast motion how the stage got built. That was cool. Well..all in all I think we have to see this documentary as a short summary for the TV stations. I am really really looking forward for the extended version.

It would be better to make cut from more countries, to avoid those “holy wars” between fans, who were not mentioned, that we experienced some days ago. And also it would be nice to mention in what way the band can have influence on organizers of concert, who negotiate on which stage concert will take place and where fan-zone will be located. Because in Kiev we had sitting parter (ANNOYING!!) and veeery uncomfortable fanzone, and band also told that it was awful. So couldn’t they make it strict condition for organizers? How it all works?

Kirsten Ohlwein – So, working for the media myself I always look at it from the professional point of view as well. I love the decision to have the interview parts in b/w and the live parts in colour. I love the cutting and I love that they decided to just film for example Marie when she is not saying anything, just watching around, thinking – I could watch her doing “nothing” for hours. Really emotional and you feel that sometimes words are not needed. I love the music, the Hong Kong version of FLAF (where do I get that btw??). It’s a really professional docu, giving insights even though most of what Per and Marie saying is not exactly new to us fans.
I love how they switch back to the “view outside from the plane” to show there’s a new scenery coming. I love the silence coming up before Marie’s story is told. And I love the ending – when I am thinking: no no no no, don’t let this end now, the story isn’t over yet!
