As our Australian reader – Celestte Thistlethwayte informs – Live Nation Australia & New Zealand is posting on the We Want Roxette to tour Australia Facebook page that there is more news on its way. Certainly they will not add more dates as the down under tour’s schedule is very tight. It might be meet & greet opportunity, DVD recording or… well, we’re only guessing
All should be known on Sunday morning.

As we have May and spring is in the air in this part of the world, it’s nice to read a relaxing piece of information once in a while. Topsky.sk has published a very shocking and unbelivable story recently.
Can you belive that Marie and Per want to choose out of 4 (four!!!) kinds of milk (fat, low-fat etc.), use ginger, have sofas in the changing room and fresh flowers while their stay in Kosice, Slovakia?
Can you expect more than that?
Mexico date off the tour
Feb 21
Roxette.se published an updated 2011 World Tour schedule yesterday. It was long speculated if the actual gig in Mexico would take place as the sale had not started in the last 3 months. Now it seems like the concert was cancelled.
We were unoficially informed that Montevideo gig would be organized on April 2nd instead of the Mexico date.
If you read an article in today’s Aftonbladet, so forget about it. It was written there that extras for the “She’s got nothing on (but the radio)” video did not receive any money (though they agreed on those conditions) and had no food…
According to Aftonbladet and translated by welchemusic.com – the extras had been promised some food but had to content with nothing but coffee and white bread (nothing but the radio would have been better!). A spokesperson for the production company apologized explaining that “it was a difficult location, but there was heat and no more than 30 people in the room. I would like to call these people and apologize as that we did not intend them to feel this way.”
Here is the director Mats Udd’s words of truth:
Got an email yesterday that Aftonbladet was looking for extras who had felt mistreated during the making of the video. A man named Michael Garderud (he previously found a plastic in food – read more about it in Svenska Dagbladet’s article) was an extra on the Roxette video we did. He even wrote on his blog that it was a good recording. But he changed his mind when he read my interview that “”it was fun to work with a big budget”. He called Aftonbladet and said how he had been mistreated during the filming. It is of course amazingly boring, a making of the video should always be enjoyable and as comfortable as possible, especially if you are there for free. But before you cry out in Aftonbladet, you should know that a high budget to me is not a particularly high budget, I have made budget videos throughout 2010 for no more than 20,000 SEK. That is how it looks like, there is no money in the Swedish music video world – but Michael does not know that. Since Roxette has nothing to do with the recording, so the news’ value is approximately equal to zero.
Bravo to Mats then. The video for the single should be available in any day now.

Yesterday we got the first hints of the possible new Roxette single title. After investigations by several Roxette fans it looks close to being true by now, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
The Cutting Room Studios, known for several mastering works for Roxette, had a news entry about the single, which some fans found thanks to google.com. The post was removed later for unknown reasons, but some fans managed to save the original text and do some screenshots, to which we now have access to:
Our long time friends at EMI Sweden & Roxette are releasing a new single titled “She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio)”. The Roxette duo started in 1986, combining Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson. Roxette has sold 75 million albums all over the world and have had four singles in the number one spot on the Billboardlistan in the US. With songs like “The Look”, “It Must Have Been Love”, & “Listen to Your Heart” och “Joyride” you can expect another great hit from this outstanding pair. Mastering with Björn Engelmann.
Björn Engelmann has mastered for example the Room Service singles.
As mentioned above, everything is based on the news posted by The Cutting Room studios. You might remember it was the same way, using google, that the participation of Roxette in NOTP was found out and revealed days before the official NOTP press release and artist announcement.
Update: The title got confirmed!

If you haven’t heard it yet – Roxette are teasing us on their official Twitter with the following text:
Looks like there will be some kind of Rox announcement on Nov 2! Stay tuned!
So if you had one wish, what would it be? Roxette recently finished recordings of their brand new studio album… and seem quite open to touring the globe in 2011… The announcements not so hard to guess! Get ready to celebrate!

Side note: Germany’s big concert ticket vendor Eventim features Roxette on their “Ticketalarm” section since a couple of days. They should have their sources…
Update: Same at oeticket.com. And there’s a brand new pic at livenation.es!
When not even Roxette’s own company Live Nation in the beginning of this year dared to believe that a concert of Roxette would sell enough, Biljett Nu went in into this business and financed the show. Our investment in Roxette was an absolutely right decision. See you in Halmstad!
Because of a dispute with Live Nation, there is a risk that you may be refused to enter the concert with these tickets. They argue that these tickets are not valid. We hope that this dispute will be resolved until August 14th.
We would like to also remind you that according to Live Nation and Per Gessle himself, tickets bought on Biljettnu.se after July 9th are not valid. Buy your tickets on www.ticnet.se

We got an interesting message from Andreas Kämpf regarding The Race Legends tickets
I got a phone call from Caroline Jepson from TRL last Thursday. She asked me if I want to change my racetickets to Roxette-tickets or if I want to give the tickets back and cancel my hotelbooking. Since I have new tickets for Halmstad I canceled the whole Anderstorp package. She sent me an e-mail and I replied with my bank account details. Now she will transfer the money I payed back into my German bank-account. I expect the money in the next days and will keep you informed.
From June 18:
According to Aftonbladet, Per surprised Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling with a performance of a brandnew song at yesterday’s party. Aftonbladet describes it as a romantic ballad specially written for the couple. But that’s not all, there’s another song to be revealed at the actual wedding party – where Roxette will perform on Saturday! We don’t know yet if any of these songs are to be released by Roxette or who will sing the song on Saturday. Stay tuned!
Thanks abysmo for the newstip!
Update, June 28: As tevensso reports at TDR, “Per says he did not perform a song for the couple on Thursday.”
So either the “special song” story was totally made up or the song was presented without a live performance. Also the rumours about Roxette performing a new song at the wedding party on Saturday were not true.
RTL’s Exclusiv (see online, minute 7) from Friday 11th of June reported about Princess Victoria’s wish to have Roxette perform at her wedding. During the same day various German and Austrian newspapers reported about an article published by “Stockholm newspapers”, where it was mentioned that Roxette would perform AT the wedding.
We knew Per and Marie would perform at the concert the day before, but on Saturday? After some searching, we found the source of the news: Expressen. According to this article, the duo is going to perform both days:
Friday 18th: at the parliment concert in Konserthuset following artists are expected to perform: Roxette, Malena Ernman, Helen Sjöholm, Magnus Uggla, Sarah Dawn Finer and Peter Jöback.
Saturday 19th: During the wedding ceremony Björn Skifs and Agnes will perform a duett. Daniel’s relatives “Westlings spelmän” will also perform in the church, while Cotton Club, Jessica Andersson, Carola, Kayo and Roxette are to perform during the party in the palace.
Regarding TV Broadcast and live-stream, this is what I could find out until now on SVT’s website:
Friday 18th:
On SVT Play scroll down until you find the list of shows to be streamed on Friday 18th and you’ll find this text
0:30 – 22:45 Det kungliga bröllopet – Festföreställning Konserthuset
-
Which means that the concert should be seen on the website, question is if due to copyright, if citizens outside Sweden will be able to see this stream.
Saturday 19th:
SVT seems to be reporting and live-streaming the whole day about the wedding, starting at 07:55. Can also be found on SVT Play.
07:55 Gomorron Sverige – Det kungliga bröllopet
15:25 Det kungliga bröllopet: Vigseln
16:35 Det kungliga bröllopet: Kortegen
19:45 Det kungliga bröllopet: Middagen
22:30 Det kungliga bröllopet: Festen
As Per informed via Twitter/Facebook, Roxette entered the rehearsal halls last monday to get ready for the upcoming live shows, starting August 7. As he revealed they even tried out songs which they never played live before! So the result could get really interesting. And don’t forget that Roxette is scheduled to perform at Princess Victoria’s wedding concert next week, June 18! They are rumored to play ‘The Look’, but maybe that’s not the only song? So far one rehearsal video surfaced on Snowfish:
The rumours reach back to January, but know it looks like confirmed: Roxette will perform on the special concert to Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria’s wedding! Over the weekend several scandinavian newspapers reported about Roxette, Benny Andersson and Carola (wedding dinner) to be among the invited performers.
Officially it’s still secret, but Aftonbladet tells about Victorias big – but until long very unrealistic – wish to have Roxette performing her favourite song “The Look” on her wedding concert on June 18. This marks Roxette’s “historic comeback” in official form to a Swedish live stage after 8,5 years!
Aftonbladet goes on to report about Roxette’s surprising comeback and the upcoming album. Per Gessle is the only artist on the official guest list for the evening. The wedding and concert will be broadcasted live on SVT1 and other TV stations. Roxette’s manager Marie Dimberg still declined to comment…
13 out 20 the most expensive houses in Sweden are located in Djurholm area in Stockholm. Number 5 on the list is Per Gessle with his 520 m2 villa in Halmstad. The house is worth over 24,000,000 SEK now. He bought this property in 1993 for 950,000 SEK, but he and his wife have done a lot of extensive and expensive renovations since then. Per Gessle is also the one of those who gain the most thanks to Property tax refrom from 2008. Swedish government reduced the property tax till only 0,75% of property’s value (not more than 6,000 SEK per year). Due to this fact Gessle does not have to pay over 123,000 SEK of property tax per year anymore.

According to Musikindustrin‘s journalist Lars Nylin Roxette will play in Germany in December. In the article about Sundsvall concert he mentions Russia and Germany as the exemples of forthcoming Roxette shows. Time will tell if it is true.
From The Daily Roxette:
Per says that he doesn’t know anything about any German gigs.
