Live Nation / EMA Telstar also sent out a press release announcing that the concert was sold out in just 30 minutes, and wrote “we are working to add more dates “down under”…”.

Live Nation Australia & New Zealand has posted a comment on the official Per Gessle Facebook page. Here is what they say:

This is all they have announced at present however the response has been quite incredible. Once they hear how things are going we’re hoping they’ll consider visiting other cities – we’d certainly like to take it further than the one show planned at the moment!

Breaking news: Roxette to play Australia 2012

This was kind of predicitable since Per has announced further 80 dates in both 2011 and 2012. Roxette – after 17 years – will finally hit Sydney for one very special concert. If it sells out quickly, we at RoxetteBlog.com are sure that more gigs in Oz will be added to the schedule.

The most successful Swedish musical export since ABBA will play a special concert at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on February 17.

Australian fans have been agitating online for a local promoter to bring the pair back since Fredriksson and Gessle reignited Roxette and announced they would embark on a world tour.

Now touring throughout Europe, the shows have been scoring rave reviews with Gessle claiming his singer is “the best I’ve seen her since, hmm, the ’90s”.

He has also revealed they are making a new album with the working title 2Rism, with five songs already recorded and plans to continue putting down extra tracks as they tour.

Tickets for the show will go on sale on August 11.

Charm School release in Australia

As The Daily Roxette informs, Roxette’s upcoming album will get a full release in Australia on February 11. Both standard and deluxe versions will be available, even supported by a local PR campaign. The single will be serviced to radio shortly.

Special about Roxette on Australian TV

Steve from Australia sent us following information:

A 90 minute Roxette Special has aired on Australian TV Channel “TVS”, which is a Sydney Community TV station. The special is a mix of clips from “Really Roxette”, “The Making of Joyride” and
Roxette videos. Some of the videos played were “The Big L”, “Real Sugar”, “Fingertips ’93″, “The Centre of the Heart”, “It Must Have Been Love” and “Almost Unreal” amongst many others.

The special aired on Prime-Time at 8:30pm on a Saturday night (Eastern Daylight Time!).

It has been a long time for us Aussies since we’ve seen such dedication to Roxette on Australian TV, even though it is Community TV.

Suprisingly, a new DVD is set to be released all over the world. It’s called “Joyride in Australia 92″. Suprisingly I say, because Roxette was in Australia on “Join the joyride!” tour in December 1991. After seeing the tracklist I assume it’s going to be the re-release of “Live-ism” concert from Sydney.

According to otus!, who bought this DVD recently, the whole concert comes from Live-ism, but it is without the interviews during the show and the quality is poor, very.
