Gyllene Tider #1 in Sweden for the 4th week!

Gyllene Tider’s latest album is still going strong. The album entered the Swedish album charts on 3rd May, 2013 and since then it is staying at the top of the chart for the 4th week in a row.

21.26% of the albums sold this week was “Dags att tänka på refrängen” and it is now a gold, platinum and double platinum record. Tjoho!

Congrats, guys!

Gyllene Tider at Allsång på Skansen

According to Aftonbladet, Gyllene Tider will most probably be one of the guests at Allsång på Skansen. SVT has not yet confirmed the list of artists.

Allsång på Skansen (Sing-along at Skansen) is a Swedish show held at Skansen, Stockholm. SVT broadcasts it on Tuesdays between 8 pm and 9 pm CET every summer. The audience (10 000 – 25 000 people) is supposed to sing-along with musical guests to well-known Swedish songs.

This year’s Allsång på Skansen premieres on 25th June (lasts until 13th August). Looking at the tour agenda, the Fabulous Five are free each Tuesday, but might be busy with travelling from one place to another, so as the GT tour starts on 5th July and ends on 10th August, the guys – if they really take part in this year’s program – may appear at the show on 25th June, 2nd July or 13th August. We’ll let you know about the exact date once it is announced.

Gyllene Tider already appeared in this program in 2004 and Per also took part in it in 2003 and 2007. Here are some of their performances at those shows:

Gyllene Tider plays with fire

You might remember our article from some days ago in which we asked you to vote on GT for a fireworks medley in Norrköping. The result of the voting is out… aaaaaand people will hear Gyllene Tider’s greatest hits during the fireworks on Friday, 16th August! More than 2000 readers took part and 34% of the votes went for our golden guys. Bruce Springsteen had 25% and David Guetta 22% of the votes. The remaining 19% went for Robbie Williams and Rihanna.

Leka med elden will most probably not included in the medley, but it’s still nice. Click here for the English version.

Thanx for voting and enjoy the ”show” if you’re in Norrköping that day!

Eurovision with Dea Norberg and Magnus Börjeson

I have to realize it every year that Eurovision song contest is not for me. This year I hoped it was going to be a bit different, since it was organized by Sweden (last year’s winner: Loreen – Euphoria). Well, it didn’t make much difference.

Malta’s performance was starting with an ukulele, a bit like Gyllene Tider’s Tuffa tider, but it turned out very soon that Gianluca’s song (”Tomorrow”) has nothing to do with GT. (You can check it here.)

Dea Norberg is a real veteran Eurovision back-up singer, as this was her ninth time providing back-up vocals. This year she was supporting Robin, Sweden’s contestant (”You”). Here you can watch how it went. Some days ago a video with Robin’s back-up singers appeared on YouTube and in the short interview Dea even says hi (at 1:55) to all Roxers out there.

During the pre-show we could see another important person of the Rox gang, Magnus Börjeson. He appeared there with Six Drummers, doing a fantastic cover version of Robin’s ”You”. You can check their act here, at 21:35. Without no doubt, this was the best and most unique performance to me during the whole show last night. 😉

The winner of Eurovision 2013 is by the way Denmark, Emmelie de Forest with ”Only Teardrops”.

Sommartider wines turn out to be as big hit as the song

There was a great press launch of Per Gessle’s Sommartider wines on 8th May at Gondolen Gastronomi, in Stockholm. All wine journalists seem to be extremely positive about these 2 new items in The Per Gessle Selection.

Livets Goda:

A wine that goddamn tastes exactly as it is called / sounds.

Allt om Mat:

I don’t like boxed wines and absolutely don’t like “celebrity wines” which tend to be praised for half shitty quality. To be honest, I thought that boxed wines with this kitschy name “Sommartider”, selected by Per Gessle, decorated with a few verses from the song and cute little flowers on the box could only be bad.

The wines don’t take you to another world, but they take you ashore. They’re good.

It will be this year’s hit.

Allt om Vin:

The vast majority of celebrity wines is of poorer quality than what you pay for. It is therefore an invigorating surprise that Per Gessle has chosen the opposite. The two boxed Sommartider wines are really worth their price (199 SEK/box).

SvD:

Considering Gessle’s solid interest in wine probably many think that boxed wines are not his mission in life. But in fact the wines are good.

This is an inspiring project for Per Gessle. Here he can combine his creativity with his interest in fine wines.

LEX Pop-Up:

The vast majority of celebrity wines are either of poor quality or overpriced. Or both! But there are exceptions. Thumbs up for Sommartider boxed wines.

You can find some other nice PG pix at the links pasted above. 😉 Don’t forget to check The Per Gessle Selection on Facebook for fresh pics / vids and news every now and then.

You can read more about Sommartider wines and where to order them in an earlier RXB article.

As Per informed the other day, wines are available in the ordinary assortment of Systembolaget at Eurostop in Halmstad. So, if you’re there in summer (or anytime), don’t forget to check and taste Sommartider. The boxes themselves are art and they will look good in any fan’s collection.

Update May 14th: The Wineagency, the company distributing Per’s wines, sent out a press release as well.
