Official info regarding ‘The Race Legends’ tickets

To clear the confusion about tickets for Roxette’s concert at Anderstorp raceway, we received another piece of info from ‘The Race Legends’ CEO Urban Stamming:

UPDATE, Sunday 31st, 22.08 CET:

Roxette Concert tickets are released Monday February 1, at 09.00!

The Race Legends is happy to announce that Biljett Nu is the official agency for tickets to the evening concert with Roxette.

There will be a limited amount of tickets.

Only standing tickets for 650 SEK including booking fee are available.

Unless theracelegends.com says something else. To be sure, keep update on our webpage.

Today you can buy race tickets and the concert is include in the race ticket! In a couple of weeks we are going to release a very limited numbers of tickets to only the concert!

The capacity for the concert are 45 000 people!

Regardless seating at the race, you will have the same access to the Roxette concert. The concert stage is located in the event area and the audience will be standing. At this time there are no ”Golden Circle” tickets planned.

The preliminary cover of “Best of Roxette” songbook.

In the Gehrmans Musikförlag catalogue 2009-2010 the preliminary cover of “Best of Roxette” was published with the release date in the autumn/winter 2009. As you may remember, according to several Swedish websites, the book will be released on March 21st. English words on the cover may suggest that the whole book (with Per Gessle’s comments) will be written in this language. On the other hand, there was also informations that the songbook would be in Swedish.

Roxette band without Jonas Isacsson

According to Jonas Isacsson himself, he will not be the part of Roxette band that will play in Anderstorp. This time it will be The Party Crasher Band, which would mean that Christoffer Lundquist will play the leading guitar and Magnus Börjeson bass. Does it also mean that we can expect to see Helena Josefsson on stage? It is still unclear.

Per & Marie is doing the show with The Partycrasher Band. The Partycrasher Band is good and more rehearsed with the Rox-songs. More suitable for the occasion.

They played lot’s of Rox-songs on the Partychrasher tour. We only did 5 on NOTP. I’m sure Christoffer is going to get it right. He’s a great musician!

Magnus Börjeson confirmed on Facebook that he is going to play with Roxette in August.

Interview with The Race Legends’ CEO Urban Stamming

Swedish Radio P4 Jönköping (the county where Roxette’s concert will take place) broadcasted the interview with The Race Legends’ CEO Urban Stamming on January 28th, where he confirmed that Roxette would play the whole concert and everyone who buys the three-days ticket will be able to attend the gig. He even said that Roxette started rehearsals for this concert in Halmstad! (We do not know if it is true or not – I can only assume it’s a rumour). Urban wasn’t also sure if there are going to be more concert with Roxette in Europe in 2010.

So if you have a chance to visit Anderstorp, don’t miss it!

Happiness, excitement and a lot of confusion

Wasn’t this a great week? Of course – all of us knew that Roxette would come back this year. But who expected a nearly full length concert this summer? I didn’t and I know that many others didn’t either. It feels so great that Per and Marie still have the power to surprise us again and again. So after some deep breaths we felt the happiness take over – followed by excitement and certainly getting out our filofax, iPhone or Palm (whatever) to see if we can attend the show at all. Place: Something in the middle of nowhere which makes it perfect I think, time: Summer. What more do we need? Yes, tickets. Thinking of tickets the confusion began..

1.) Some people found out that Biljettnu.se seems to be selling tickets for what they call the Roxette concert from Monday on – when I visited the site for the first time they offered tickets for a “Golden Circle” for 950 SEK and “normal” standing tickets for 550 SEK. From what I heard the tickets aren’t fake but too expensive. Biljettnu.se is a ticket reseller, which means they buy tickets from the organizers and sell them for a higher price. So what they are going to do is most probably buying tickets for the race which allow you to join the concert as well. In the meantime – after Roxetteblog.com called the CEO of the event – the prices have disappeared from the Biljettnu.se website.

2.) The CEO made clear that a small number of concert tickets will be sold on their website theracelegends.com and ONLY there. We don’t know the price yet, we don’t know when the sale starts and we don’t know exactly how many tickets will be available, but it’s approx. 1,000-2,000 tickets.

3.) Capacity: The newspapers reported that 45,000 people attend the concert, which seems to be in contradiction to Per Gessle’s words on Facebook and Twitter, who said that the concert is only for about 8,000-10,000 people. According to information on The Race Legends, the concert is for 45,000 and everyone who has a ticket for the race can attend the concert as well.

So, to clarify it at least a bit, with info we have for now.

- If you want to buy tickets which include entrance to the Race the 3 days, head to theracelegends.com and buy one of the race tickets starting at 800 SEK. Concert is included.

- If you want to risk it, go ahead and buy tickets on biljettnu.se from Monday on, we however cannot tell you what kind of tickets they are reselling. Besides that, they seem to be more expensive. You will probably end up paying more than directly at The Race Legends. Again, it’s at your own risk.

- Tickets for the concert only will be on sale via TheRaceLegends.com in short, but we don’t know when the sale starts yet. According to The Daily Roxette, ticnet.se will also be involved in selling tickets.

(UPDATE, 30/01, 12.02 pm): biljettnu.se added a price again. Now they sell a concert-only-ticket for 605 SEK, sent as a pdf file.

Anderstorp schedule and tickets

Important information regarding the schedule of “The Race Legends” event. Roxette and supporting acts will start performances at 8.00 PM CET on August 14th. I suppose Roxette will start playing at 21.30.

Roxette to perform in front of 10,000 people on August 14th.

According to Aftonbladet‘s article Roxette is going to perform on a Anderstorp Raceway in Småland region, Sweden on August 14th during “The Race Legends” event. Over 10,000 people will be able to see Roxette’s performance, more than 45,000 will attend the whole event.

“Roxette hasn’t played Sweden since 2001, it feels great to be on stage in Sweden again. This will be much fun, I have been there several times and actually even raced there, too”, says Per Gessle.

According to TDR, the concert will last for about 90 minutes.

At the moment you can buy tickets only for the whole event. There will be few tickets especially dedicated for this concert, but it is unknown when they will be released.

Update: TDR added a short interview with Per. Yes, they aim to play a full show, running 60-70 minutes – but yes, there may be other artists as well. And there are more Roxette “things” to come beside this and the new album!

What’s going on with Helena?

Some of you may impatiently wait for Helena’s second album. It is still not clear when it will be released. There are few words on Helena Josefsson herself on her website:

I have been busy, studying in Copenhagen, to become an opticitian like my younger sister! I want to work part-time with it along with music, because as a parent I want to give my family more possibilities. And studying takes a lot of time :) But it is fun to learn new stuff! On top of this we live at my mother´s place because of a large renovation of our flat which is really needed.

About my second album I don´t know, who or when it could be released… But the good part is I am working on more music videos for it with friends, and we have started rehearsing with Sandy Mouche which I enjoy more than ever! Just for fun, like when we first begun playing together. And I am planning for a show with my friend Malin Nilsson the magician.

It was Kirsten who discovered that Per Gessle, before making his official account on Facebook, had another profile called “Leggy Mountbatten”. According to Thomas Evensson Leggy was the name he used checking into hotels during the Joyride tour.

This account will be closed shortly, as the Man informed himself.

“Best of Roxette” is the title of a new song book.

CDON.com publidshed some information regarding forthcoming release of a new Roxette song book. The book will be entitled “Best of Roxette” and it will be available to purchase in Sweden from March 22nd or 23rd. It costs 299 SEK.

According to AdLibris.se Martin Östergren is the author behind this publication.

Don’t forget to follow Gehrmans Musikförlag. Now they are working on “Neverendig love” – there will be 30 songs and 11 of them were never published in this form.

The book will include Roxette’s photos as well as the comments from Per Gessle himself.

Roxette to perform on Victoria’s wedding?

The Daily Roxette reveals today that Roxette are very probable to perform on Crown Princess Victoria and her fiancee Daniel’s wedding on June 18th in Stockholm. It is no secret that Victoria likes Gessle’s music since she was on few of his concerts and Per even performed in Victoria’s birthday gala in 2003 (“Födelsedag” & “Här kommer alla känslorna (på en och samma gång)“).

The wedding and concert will be broadcasted live on SVT1 and many other international TV-stations.

Will we hear new Roxette single then or a classic hit single?

“Hitlåtens historia” with “The look” available to watch

Have you ever known that it was Clarence who counted 1-2-3-4 in “The look”? This and more in the exclusive footage from the recording studios in SVT’s “The look” documentary. It seems it was co-produced by Danish and Norwegian TV-stations, so it’s very probable it will be broadcasted in other Scandinavian countries.

In my opinion – the best Roxette documentary of 21st century.

Update: Fellow rox fan shirley is working on an English translation of the documentary, which should lead to a subtitled video. You can read her work in progress at R2R forums and maybe help her!
