We will collect the different official chart entries and positions of Roxette’s new album “Charm School” in this post. How is the album doing in your country? Let us know! Please provide sources to your numbers.

Update February 21: Roxette entered straight to #1 in Germany! Announcement by Media Control | EMI (who also provided us with a new promo picture).

Update April 1: “Charm School” enters South Africa! And Per says that it has been certified gold in Switzerland! Germany and Austria should follow that style, while the album is heading to platinum in Sweden, according to the latest Live Nation press release. And CS is not the only charting album: The current Roxette action brought the “Hits!” compilation up to #65 in the German charts…

Update April 14: The album has reached the Brasilian charts! According to different retailer charts it’s also selling well in Argentina, but the official chart site doesn’t get updated. There’s also lack of official sources for Russia and Asian countries. We’re grateful for your help!

Reviews

Chilean newspapers wrote quite nice reviews of the concert, but nothing really worth translating into English. They are all in Spanish.

Misc

The show was almost sold out, with a capacity of 15.000, 14.500 tickets had been sold for this show.

Confirmed: next Roxette single is “Speak To Me”

As mentioned earlier last week, Roxette’s second out of “Charm School” is going to be “Speak To Me”. Now it’s official, at least for Sweden, Belgium and South Africa.

The song which is going to be played on the radio is however the called “Bassflow remake”, mixed by Peter Boström. You can listen to a snippet of the song on TDR following this link.

Radio start is April 11th and you’ll be able to buy the single digitally on April 18th. According to TDR, and as you can see on the album cover, the b-side is “Stars” (live in Barcelona 2001). However, earlier yesterday the titles of some more remixes were published (and later removed) in the article, so we expect there will be a remixes single released additionally (as it was with “She’s Got Nothing On”) or a maxi containing all of the tracks.

The cover is again red and in the same style as “She’s Got Nothing On” but with another picture. The red cover was however used for the promo single, the comercial single cover was purple.

Update April 21st: “Stars” version included on the single comes from the “Room Service Tour”, not from the Barcelona showcase.

World Tour 2011: Montevideo, Uruguay – April 2 #09

Yesterday Roxette landed in Montevideo, Uruguay, what is their first stop in the South American leg of the World Tour 2011. They are going to spend some weeks in Latin America touring in Argentina, Chile and Brazil.
We have read (mostly on Facebook) that many fans already met Roxette and even have partied with the musicians (C, M and P!). Below you’ll find some links!

According to roxette.se, fans who purchase an item from the Official Merchandise stand in the venues in Uruguay, Argentina and Chile will enter a draw to win a Meet and Greet with Marie and Per.

Setlist
The set list contained no new songs (contrary to what Per said that a new song would be added in each continent) and “Silver Blue” was skipped.
Christoffer played “La Cumparsita” during the band introduction.
There was also a big screen at each side of the stage.

Thanks to Rosina for the information.
