Roxette’s next single leaked

Of course, this was our April Fool’s 🙂

Yes, it has happened again: Roxette’s next single “Speak To Me”, according to our sources to be released on April 15th, has been leaked. We at Roxetteblog have got a copy of it and what we can already say now is that the song has been remixed and is quite different to the album version.

For example, the duration now is 04:01 min and it features a newly recorded final part in which Marie has a solo sung almost in opera style, supported by heavy rock guitars. And to be honest, the result is quite bad!

Apparently, as it happened in some cases before (remember “Radio” or Per’s single?) someone involved in the production has been careless with the material.

We have contacted Roxette’s management to get an OK to at least share a snippet of the remixed song, it looks quite good so check our website later on today!

For the time being, and as we did when “Radio” or the full album were leaked, we really want to stress out that we don’t support illegal sharing of non-released material and we ask you not to post any links on the comments if you find the song anywhere for download. We also ask you to report such links to us (via contact) so that together, as we did with the previously mentioned releases, can stop the illegal spreading. Thank you!

Malin Ekstrand’s solo EP “Nära” is out today

Posted March 11: Malin Ekstrand, whom you have seen singing backing vocals in Roxette’s Summer tour last year, has recorded an EP called “Nära” which is out today on iTunes, Amazon and other digital music stores.

“The music: Open, Warm, Loving, Personal, Happy, Laid Back, Intimate, Elaborated, Playful, Soft, Ingenious.

I am just like anybody with thoughts and ideas, right and wrong. The difference is that I write it down, using music. My life, so far, has been very exciting and I have had many positive surprises.

In addition to my lovely man and my two wonderful children I also enjoy having music as a close friend. Music has always followed me, but in different shapes and genres: pop, rock, funk, soul, jazz, musicals and that mixture of everything that is a genre of its own. All of it has enriched my life and helped me develop. I have been given the opportunity to explore music as a pianist, a solo artist, a choir singer, a teacher, a creator and as a listener. The music in my life changes, as do my goals and myself. My next goal is to always believe in myself.

A good friend said: If a song has come to you it is selfish not to pass it on. These five songs have come to me, you can have them.

/ Malin”

The EP is released by Swedish record label Monophon and has been recorded in I/O Studios.

Update March 30: Malin’s team now offers an additonal purchase possibility:

For those of you living in parts of the world where iTunes or other download services can’t deliver Malin’s EP “Nära” to you – here is finally a store that we set up especially for you!

Tickets for inner circle available for Roxette’s concert in Denmark

As you know, there are no tickets on sale for the concert of Roxette in Tivoli, Copenhagen (Denmark) on July 22nd. All you need to attend the concert is to buy a ticket to enter the amusement park that very same day.

However, Tivoli has now released tickets for “inner circle” which can be purchased in advance and give you the chance to see the concert from the first rows. According to Tivoli’s website, the Fredagsrock inner cirle is an exclusive area in front of the stage where you can see the performing artists very close. This inner circle is available for 3 concerts: Aqua, Roxette and Nik & Jay.

The good news are: the ticket costs only 125 DKK (or 100 DKK if you have a Tivoli season card) and can be bought online. You will get the ticket including a barcode per email, which you’ll have to print out on A4 and bring to the inner circle to be let in. After the barcode is read, you’ll get a special wristband so can go in and out of this circle. This circle will open at 19:00 (concert starts at 22:00).

Please note: You need a ticket to enter Tivoli as well, which costs 95 DKK (note that you need a ticket for July-September!!) or the season pass.

Sales started on March 21st.

Update March 28th: Here are some promo pictures of Christoffer and the album cover in better quality!

Christoffer Lundquist to release solo album in May

As previously reported, Christoffer Lundquist is going to release a solo album in the following months. Warner Music Sweden AB has sent out a press release today with some information about the album:

– Album release is set for May 4th – two days after Christoffer is going to receive the “Sir George Martin Music Award” in Palladium, Malmö.

– Title: “Through The Window”.

– It has taken Christoffer 12 years to finish the album, which might not be surprising given that Christoffer’s studio Aerosol Grey Machine has always been taken by other artists. So the only hours the studio was free and he could work on the album were between 4 and 6 in the morning. And Christoffer needed some sleep as well.

– Christoffer has recorded, mastered and mixed the album himself. He also plays all instruments, except for the drums.

And about the award:

George Martin about the award and Christoffer: “When I was his age I was in the middle of producing Sgt. Pepper for The Beatles but nobody took any notice of me until much later. I wish to cheer him with his success and wish him well for his future!”

Here is once again the promotion medley uploaded by Warner.

Christoffer released an EP called “Major & Minor Songs” which contained 4 tracks in 2005. You can read a review by Tomasz here.
