I’ve seen Per and Marie playing live in 1992 and 1994 -quite a while ago- so I did not know what to expect. But I must say they were stunning!!!!Marie’s voice blew everyone away. She sung like a godess! She is not so much jumping as she used to do, but everyone could see the joy in her eyes. And her voice was incredibly pure. Together with 15000 people singing Listen to Your heart. Wowsers!

I’m just back of NOTP….Roxette was amazing, don’t think that I have a voice tomorrow, I was screaming all the songs from the top of my lungs !!!! I was very close to the stage and I could notice that Marie needed help to take the stairs for going to the stage… the braintumor took her out of balance, that poor thing, but lot’s of respect 4 her !!! I don’t think that Roxette will go on tour in the future, I believe that Marie can’t handle a full concert, even when she is a very strong woman, and she is of course, but still……and she still can sing like a bird and all the lyrics were correct!!!! She just needed some practise and she was very nerveuse with the opening of NOTP…….I have enjoyed the other artist too, OMD was great, but only 2 songs ?? C’mon  I will go again next year !!!! And it was a great experience to see Roxette live !!!!!

Those 2 days off were spent with the flu in a hotel bed in sunny Paris. Terrible. Now; 4 shows in a row.

Hooray! Everyone’s healthy again. Marie was out-of-this-world-good last nite and I’m feeling much better, thankyouverymuch.

It was a night to remember. But it was too short… Too short…. I wished I should have had several heads. The 1st one to look at Marie. The 2nd to look at Per. The 3rd for the band and the last one for the audience, atmosphere. etc. No laugh. I couldn’t get it all at the same time… I was so anxious for all these and I had so little time that I think I missed a lot of what was happening… I have only one head so excuse me all but I wanted to look at Marie most of all. So I didn’t really realize how the audience reacted on Roxette. But I guess It was nice and people knew the lyrics.

But guys I didn’t care about all these people. There were only Marie and Per for me. I had waited for that moment since 2001. And I couldn’t believe it. I still can’t. I love them with all my heart and I miss them badly. And I admire Marie the way as she is. So I don’t care if she forgets the lyrics or whatever. She was so touching, vulnerable, still a little bit nervous but she was gorgeous. She will always be gorgeous for me. She and Per are now a part of my family. I just happy they exist. And once again I realized I miss them like crazy. I do miss Roxette in my life. Solo stuff… yeah it’s great! But nothing can be compared for me with Marie and Per together!!

I’d also like to say that I think it’s at least impolite to discuss Marie. Excuse me all. I don’t want to hurt anyone. But don’t you think we are not allowed to? No one from us really knows what she has been going through. Can you really understand she could die????!?!?!?!? How can you discuss her coordination, confusing, differences, etc calling yourselves fans and saying you love her!!!.???? It must be a joke!! Do you think she needs such reviews? Yes, thank you very much for such support….. C’mon! Be wise…. She does her best and I do think She is inimitable.

NOTP tour: Good news for the next shows

Night of the Proms logoThe international NOTP fanpage provides some fresh info regarding the past and next shows – obviously they spoke/mailed with producer Jan Vereecke:

In our review of the premiere on the 23th of October we concluded that overall the show was good but we complained about the problems regarding the sound. During the rehearsals, Jan reported the sound to be good, but since there is a difference between the sound in an empty and a full arena… The problem is solved now and the quality of the sound became much better. That is good news.

During the weekend, Marie of Roxette got an infection of her throat which caused her voice to be less on the show of last Saturday. Immediatly she was put on medication. On Sunday she sang a lot better and her voice will be back to full strenght from Wednesday on. Also good news.

The running order of the premiere is still applied; the proof that the show was well prepared and jugded by the organization so that no adaption had to be made. Again, good news.

Question of the release for a CD of the Antwerp and The Netherlands edition was not denied by Jan. He wrote:”PERHAPS…”. Wouldn’t that be good news?

Update: Producer Jan Vereecke writes within a post about reactions to the first shows:

… And then Marie was so ill on Saturday that she could barely sing, and it nevertheless has disappointed some people (understandably). … The report of yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) is that her voice got much stronger, but she still suffers a bad cough. We cross fingers for this evening. I hope that we can do a smooth show when Marie’s voice completely returned. …

My verdict:

Many years and big fights later – still the same poses! Still very much Roxette!

And when Marie grows more security through the tour she’ll shine brighter and brighter again. 😀
