Grand Pop Station – a new project from Staffan Öfwerman

Grand Pop Station.Grand Pop Station is a new Swedish band with Staffan Öfwerman on the lead vocals (who used to be in the Roxette band between 1988–1993, appearing on Look Sharp, Join the Joyride tour and also on several other recordings. He did his final live performance with Roxette on MTV Unplugged.

This is Staffan’s new band with 4 other great musicians from Sweden playing their own music. Most of the songs are written by Staffan and the music is pop that the band hope will be loved by the most people.

The band just released their debut single, Daddys little boy as a digital download on iTunes in November 2009. The track ended up on Top 30 over the best selling songs on iTunes Store on the first day.

The band is right now in the studio working on more songs, which will be released in 2010 if people like their first single. There is also a brand new web site on it’s way and the first part of it is now open, but a lot of things are happening behind the scenes. Take a look and register yourself to the club (it’s free). Then you will have access to the complete web site when it is launched.

NOTP Germany: Drink and help!

NOTP fan cup for GermanyNOTP Germany presents the fan cup for the upcoming proms season. When you order a drink at the German tourdates (except Frankfurt) you get this cup against 2 € pledge. If you like to keep it as a souvenir the profit goes to the Nordoff Robbins music therapy foundation. In Frankfurt you can buy it at the merchandising shop.

Let the trade begin..

One of our rare blog posts is coming up now! That’s the good thing when you call it a blog – you’re not forced to publish only news but can leave a note once in a while.

So – the tour has started last week and as we all know Per took along a bunch of guitar picks in every color you can imagine. For me – the special thing about these picks is that you have to catch them when he throws them at the show. Either you’re lucky or you’re not. It’s been like that ever since and for some fans it was a game, others started it as a competition.

I however liked the idea that he sold his Party Crasher-tour picks at Hotel Tylösand. Just to make sure that those who waited to catch a pick for such a long time finally had the chance to get at least one from this tour. As far as I remember the price was around 2 Euro each? Ok – I never would have bought them anyway, for me it’s a game: either I get one on a show or I don’t. But it’s easy for me to keep it that way since I am much more of a Marie Fredriksson fan. So if she started to throw -whatever- I’d be a competitor in a second, too!

Nevertheless, the trade with the NOTP picks already began. The tour started a week ago and Per’s picks can already be bought on eBay. A friend just sent me a mail telling me that somebody offered her NOTP picks for 12 Euro each. I couldn’t believe it and I still don’t. I mean: it’s a guitar pick. Ok, you guys (seller) want to earn some money with it – I get it. But can’t you try with other stuff like CDs or posters or shirts? For me, these picks have a highly intanguable value and it should remain like that. But maybe I am too old-fashioned when it comes to catching guitar picks!

And no – no harm intended for those who buy them for such a price. I just wanted to point out the original idea about Per Gessle throwing guitar picks! At least what it is for me! BTW: If I find my Gyllene Tider-plec from 2004 I’ll give it away to the first person who comments on this thread – can take a while to find it, though.

Online store for Roxette merchandise

Official Roxette store for merchandiseAs ‘The Daily Roxette’ reports, an offical online store for Roxette merchandise has opened it’s doors pages. Currently it sells the same things as seen at the Proms tour: t-shirts, mugs, bags and more. It’s run from the UK, we don’t know yet by whom. Check it out!

Update, November 2: I asked if they plan to sell additional articles like key-rings or also ‘retro’ stuff from the previous tours and got the following response:

At this moment in time, we only have merchandise for the current tour
> but we do hope to expand on that soon!
