Michael Saxell – a man behind Christoffer Lundquist’s album

Michael Saxell is a Swedish singer-songwriter, composer, lyricist, multi-instrumentalist and producer. He has recently worked with Christoffer Lundquist on Chris’ first solo album. Here are few interesting quotes from the recent interviews Michael gave.

On May 4th Christoffer’s debut album as soloartist “Through The Window” was released by Warner Music Sweden. All music by Christoffer and I’ve written the lyrics. Drummer extraordinaire Niklas Kilenstam and great singer Hanna Ekström add brilliance as well as string ensemble; Charlotta Bergström, Tomas Ebrelius, Johanna Skoglund and Charlotta Weber Sjöholm and horn players; Sven Andersson, Petter Lindgård and Jens Lindgård.

“Green” the first cut off Christoffer’s album is chosen as the theme song for an exciting new project, YMP(Young Masters Programme) involving United Nations, UNESCO and Lunds University etc.

I got an email from Christopher when he was in South Africa as part of the Roxette band. He told me that “Green” is the first track from his debut solo album and it has been chosen as the theme of a worldwide campaign called YMP, Youth Masters Program, developed for UNESCO.

It is a great pleasure to write together with Christoffer. It was like standing in a candy rain. That was the opposite of sitting and writting at the record company office in Nashvill as I have done several times before.

If you still have not purchased Chris’ album, just give a try and listen to this song!

Athlete duo Look Sharp! to tour US

We have found this interesting piece of news on the internet the other day…

The Swedish artist/athlete duo Look Sharp! – Peter Aberg and Viktor Gyllenberg – is touring the Midwest with a multi-faceted tribute to their homeland’s pop rock sensation, Roxette, which put out hits such as “The Look” and “Listen to Your Heart” in 1988.

Named after the Roxette’s classic album “Look Sharp!” Peter Aberg and Viktor Gyllenberg toss bowling pins, balls, rings and more while dancing and doing gymnastic moves. For one act they juggle with one hand each as they stand side by side. Think three-legged race. They also play guitar.

Biljettnu.se – issues with tickets again – this time for Tivoli concert on Friday

Only few days ago a decision was made on the conflict between Live Nation and Biljettnu.se after the Roxette gig in Halmstad and here we have another matter to solve. Biljettnu.se has not got much of positive coverage in the Swedish and Danish media last days. They are selling tickets for the Roxette Copenhagen show that will take place at Tivioli on Friday, July 22nd five times more expensive (495 SEK instead of 95 SEK). Have a look at the latest headlines in both English and Swedish – they say (almost) all about the case.

The Daily Roxette – Bijlettnu.se back in action (English)
Sydsvenskan.se – Mats Pentmo: “I feel cheated by Bijlettnu.se” (Swedish)
Expressen – Cheated with super expensive tickets (Swedish)
Aftonbladet – This is more or less cheating (Swedish)
Expressen – Biljettnu.se: “This is how our company works” (Swedish)
Sydsvenskan.se – Biljett Nu in a new row with Roxette (Swedish; TT Spektra agency’s article was published on several websites)
Sydsvenskan.se – Tickets sites accused of false PR (Swedish)

Clarification on the case Nojet / Live Nation vs. Biljett.nu

We were asked to share this clarification with you.

Clarification

The Swedish Market Court decided not to open the case Nojet / Live Nation vs. Biljett.nu regarding the right to sell tickets to the Roxette Concert in Halmstad last summer. Their reason being that the event had already taken place and the Court saw no reason to make a ruling in the matter.

They did not however, state that biljett.nu had the right to sell tickets, they just decided to not make a statement at all. Given the headlines in some Swedish media we want to make this clarification; no case, no winner.

As it was Nojet/Live Nation who initiated this case it is common law that the initiator has to pay for the expenses of the other party.
