Hats off to Gyllene Tider’s security team

Micke Syd told us in an interview (which will be on this website soon!) last Monday that he was very happy about the numbering system that was created during this tour for those queueing all day, and he has just posted a nice success story in his blog on Hallandsposten.se:

We are glad to have a lot of people on tour not only from Sweden, but from around the world. They come to see several gigs, some of them see all shows. Many of the foreign fans are Roxette fans who started listening also to GT, which I think is great fun. Many of them are queueing all day, sometimes more, but earlier maybe they didn’t get to their preferred spot, if someone else ran faster, etc.

But luckily, now we have a security guy called Atli, who felt that something has to be changed. So he has created a system after gig number two in Lysekil that makes everyone who was queueing long before the gig happy. They go inside the venue in peace together, in line, according to their numbers. Lovely Swedish system! 🙂 And now there’s a totally different atmosphere among our hardcore fans, which I think is very good. So hats off to Atli and all of you who spend a long time before every gig in the queue outside the entrance.

Nice words, Micke Syd. Thanx for always thinking about us, international fans, too.

Hip hip hurray for Atli and of course, for Sandra Knospe and Celestte Williams, who helped him to find out the best way of a calm insläpp and make all hardcore fans happy. Thanx for your & your colleagues’ (especially Malin’s) efforts, Atli!

From our side, we made a commitment to ourselves to try to spread this to other Rox&Co (you never know what will be next… Roxette, Per solo?) tours as well.

And we would be happy to have you in any other country at any future gig to organize our entrance the same way. It simply makes the concert experience even better. 😉

2 quotes from Atli. First one is from Helsingborg, when he started to find out the system:

”I’m sick of you running!”

The other, which we heard many times and knew the answer to it very well:

Atli: ”What happens to those who start running?”
Crowd in chorus: ”You kick them out PERSONALLY!”

It was our pleasure meeting you! Have a good rest after the tour ends!

Article 1 and article 2 on RXB mentioning the great work of the security team.

Update 1: comment from Malin from Show Security Sweden:

You guys makes us blush.. Many thanks for your cooperation and the never ending happy smiles when we arrive to the sites. You rock! /Malin

Update 2: Sandra talked to Malin to say thanks from all of us, because it’s her last concert tonite. She asked Sunny to tell everyone involved that the company is really thankful, too that everyone was cooperating and helping to make the entries work so good. They all appreciate it and want everybody to know it. To quote Malin:

It’s nice to see that everyone was aiming for the same goal: to experience a great concert.

 Update 3: Atli’s comment:

Wow. Thank you everyone. What a summer we have had together!
I will do my last show in Halmstad in a few days. I see that many of you have gone home by then. But I know there are many of you left for the last shows. Thanks for all your smiles and cooperation.
ATLI

Update 4: Show Security Sweden posted our article with this comment:

Gyllene Tider Sundsvall – check!

We would like to thank GT’s great fans for their fantastic cooperation during the whole tour so far and joining us in creating the best possible experience for all. Hats off to you!

See the attached link, this is precisely what makes you go to work with a smile on your face – every day.

And remember: Those who run go back to the end of the queue. Never forget that!

Gyllene Tider ROCKED Tele2 Arena – front row report

This is how I summarized Gyllene Tider’s Ullevi concert about 2 weeks ago: P-U-R-E A-W-E-S-O-M-E-N-E-S-S!  Multiply it by at least 5 and you get to know how Stockholm gig was! I doubted that Ullevi can be topped, but these 5 guys made it! Incredible energy from the very first second of the show till the very end that made everyone sweat on and off stage. It was the best concert I’ve seen during the tour, no question. Per was bouncing around all the time with a smile from ear to ear, MP was also smiling during the whole gig and did a great show, DJ Fritzon was in supertop shape, Anders was simply fantastic and Micke Syd’s acting with the crowd and the cameras was just awesome. There were more cameras this time, so most probably there is much more material from this show than from any other. Fingers crossed for a decent DVD.

Tele2 Arena in Stockholm is a new venue. Actually, it’s not completely ready yet, but Gyllene Tider’s gig was the first musical event organized in it. It was planned to be an open air concert, but the roof was closed. Maybe because of the short, but heavy rain in the afternoon. It was quite strange – Sommartider in an arena with a closed roof…, huh? Anyway, the 5 energy bombs on stage rocked it big time.

Sound of the arena surely needs to be improved, though, as the echo was frustrating. It was good when the crowd was singing along, but a bit annoying when Per was singing. Fortunately, there was less echo in the front. 1/3 of the arena was closed and the stage was set up on the shorter side of the venue. Approximately 23000 fans attended the show.

As Per said in the TDR interview, Marie didn’t appear on stage this time and there was no other surprise either. But who needs any surprises when you get to attend a gig like this??? Amazing!

I can’t believe that this is my last report of the concerts I was attending. I had a fantastic Swedish summer and 7 unforgettable gigs. Det är över nu for me, but the rest of the tour will surely be filled with a lot of energy. I wish all of you who are still on tour to enjoy it to the full. The Fab Five deserve all attention, sing-along, clapping, shouting, jumping and waving and even more!

As this was my last concert, I’d like to highlight again the great job the security team is doing at each gig during this tour. Hats off to Show Security Sweden! Go to other countries and show them how to do it! Thanx for all your support so far and during the rest of the tour.

#gtsommar #10 Gyllene Tider in Örebro – front row report

Actually, thinking about the fact that it was the 3rd show in a row and as all those attending Leksand gig said that was a hyperenergetic concert, I had no expectations for Örebro. I thought the guys will be tired, won’t have that much energy – as they are not fifty anymore 😉 –, but I was surprised by their huge power. All of them were really fresh and enjoyed every second on stage. For me it was the most active gig so far, if we are talking about jumping, clapping, waving, etc.

There was a funny stage scene, when Micke N-S brought Per the cherry guitar. In Karlstad, there was a problem with Per’s black guitar, when they came back for the 2nd extra with Sommartider and Micke N-S had to come to the stage and change the guitar settings from silent mode to normal, while Per was playing the guitar. It was hilarious. So, after that I guess they were joking with this, because last night Micke showed to Per that the guitar was now set to the right mode and then they were laughing with Micke Syd and Per was smiling at that too. It was lovely.

I have to mention that Linnea Henriksson, GT’s support act is very nice and always says thanks to the international gang on the shows since some gigs ago and to give something back, Nina Wolfframm found out that it might be a good idea to bring some nice, colourful balloons to the show. Does it ring a bell to any Roxers? 😉 Well, Linnea’s stage outfit and all the decorations are also very colourful, so the balloons looked great and Linnea was really touched by this action.

Regarding the setlist, Leksand was the first gig on this tour where they played Marie i växeln and they kept it for Örebro. No other ”surprise”.

#gtsommar #8 Gyllene Tider in Karlstad – front row report

Another fantastic night with Gyllene Tider! Fab Five was in top shape and in great mood and the sound was ass-kicking. As Expressen reported earlier, the capacity of the venue is 7000, but Per wrote after the concert that 13000 crazy fans attended the gig. So now we know why we felt so tight in there. 😉

They performed 24 songs last night, leaving out Skicka ett vykort, älskling and En sten vid en sjö i en skog, BUT Arabiska nätter came in. Thank God I could hear it live! It’s clear that not so many fans know this song, but it’s a great party song and it rocks live! 1 old song I’m badly missing from the setlist: Fån telefon and 1 from Dags att tänka på refrängen: Chikaboom. Both songs would be awesome to hear! Wishful thinking…

#gtsommar #7 Gyllene Tider in Linköping – front row report

As I already wrote it in my Ullevi report, it will be hard to top that concert and the best gig so far is still Gothenburg for me, but the guys were in perfect shape and they had the same energy on stage in Linköping. The sound was very good and enjoyable this time, too. Front row had a great party and the whole crowd had some fantastic reactions. Sing-along parts were looooud! 😉

”Linköping tjejer” also had a great time for sure and could see the hot outfit of Anders – just like on earlier gigs, where the weather was too warm.

Anders before & after

By the way, it seems that the Gyllene Tider curtain has ended its career. It added a lot to the beginning of the show during the first 3 gigs, but most probably, it’s impossible to be removed quick enough from the stage or it’s because of the windy weather. So the Fab Five are just entering the stage from the 2 sides. Anyway, it’s still an awesome feeling when they appear.

The setlist was the same as in Ullevi, but unfortunately, Marie didn’t join them for the closing song this time. I do hope that Arabiska nätter will be back on one of the future gigs.
